Ok i cant believe the day has finally come that ernie ball has finally caught my attention.

I have always been a D’adario & elixir fan boy ever since i started playing guitar 14 years ago. Throughout time and in between setups, the guitar technicians i took my guitar to always looked at me in a different way when i said for strings im not taking ernie ball, tho one of them insisted when the cobalt launched that i should give Ernie ball another chance cuz they are good. And he was right! The cobalt has been the sharp d’adario version of ernie ball while keeping the mellow tone that i love about ernie ball, but sadly they got rusty extremely quick and i had to go back to elixir. A decade passed by and so much has changed in life, I finally got back into playing guitar and bought myself a beast of a brand new schecter (c1 platinum) and a boss katana mk2 100 and boy is that combination the best thing ive ever had since my good old days, better than my old Ibanez prestige and the junky (sold to a friend) line 6 spider 4 30W amp. The schecter came with the strings that made me fall in love with Ernie ball, the cobalt series, and as much as i loved them again like i used to i had to get coated strings after 4 days of playing. Thankfully, finally ernie ball has launched with a coated line!!! And that gave me so much joy!!! To the point i was expecting to see if ernie has finally made me their loyal customer after so many attempts? Have they nailed this time? And so they did!! Unlike the rest of the Ernie balls that are dry and rusty these definitely feel like high quality coated strings, smooth and very well toned!! Ernie ball i kneel, this is how you got customers like me, people who want something reliable and long lasting and dont need to hassle to take care of things every minute. The strings are durable and after playing sessions with them Ernie has got my seal of approval!!!

These are superior strings

They may eventually wear out your frets but they sound good and last a good long while. They won't be replacing nickel anytime soon but they bend in higher gauges with ease. I stopped playing Ernie's some years ago but these brought me back.

I love the way they bend

Great strings!

Good strings for an Electric Guitar; Titanium is a gimmick

The standard strings I use with my guitar are the Ernie Ball Super Slinky Strings — they're inexpensive, durable, & they sound pretty good on an electric guitar. These strings are the Ernie Ball Extra Slinky Strings with Titanium Reinforced Technology (patented Titanium RPS Technology) — they're inexpensive (they do cost more than the Super Slinky, but not by much), durable, & they sound pretty good on an electric guitar. So, the Extra Slinky & the Super Slinky must be pretty much the same...? Well, not quite; indeed, there are 2 differences:1. Extra Slinky have Titanium RPS Technology!2. Extra Slinky wire gauges differ from the Super Slinky.Ok...; so... What's the significance of those differences then?1. The Titanium? The significance is negligible. The Titanium is present only on the 3 wound strings & is just a 1-2" long Titanium wire that is wrapped around or into the lock twist of the 3 wound strings. The Titanium itself has NO effect on the sound of the strings – it is meant to reduce potential slippage & breakage only. Considering it is only present on the three thickest cords, I question its purpose other than that of a gimmick. ..(?)2. The Gauges? This is where there is significance. The gauge differences do improve the sound quality with the Extra Slinky in my opinion. The Extra Slinky are 8-11-14-22-30-38 while the Super Slinky are 9-11-16-24-32-42. The end effect is a slightly cleaner sound, especially with the Low E. But the reduced gauge isn't without its drawbacks. Namely, the High E could be anywhere from a little uncomfortable to punishing depending on your manner & frequency of play. The Dunlop Billy Gibbons Strings have a 7 Gauge High E, which are the strings I replaced with the Extra Slinky, so I had already acclimated to the discomfort of the extreme High E Gauge. As a note for comparison of the Extra Slinky Titanium v Dunlop's Billy Gibbons Strings — hands-down, the Extra Slinky are superior. The Billy Gibbons strings didn't produce near the volume of Ernie Ball Strings. Dunlop's did have a nice sound, they just weren't loud enough. So, when all is said and done, are the Extra Slinky Strings worth the higher price of the Super Slinky Strings? Yes, but do take the amount of subjectivity that comes with that assessment into account. I like how the strings sound. I think the difference in price isn't that significant. A better assessment might be of the consistency with quality expected — is their quality consistent with expectations? Yes. The strings are durable and they play well; my only gripe would be with overselling the Titanium that's used to secure the lock twist. In terms of branding, the "Titanium technology" is not consistent because it's very much a gimmick in my opinion. Hence the 4-stars instead of 5-stars. Still, that is no reason to avoid these strings nor to think they are of inferior quality.

Smooth and Crispy.

First time buying Ernie Ball Coated Slinky strings, and I am blown away by their tone and feel. They sound bright and crisp. The playability is super smooth, making bends and vibrato effortless. I was curious how they would compare to the Paradigms, and I am not disappointed. They stay fresh, sound amazing, and feel great. Worth every penny.

Well Balanced And Smooth

I’ve been playing guitar for about 55 years. I think I’ve probably played just about every string made. I keep coming back to Ernie Ball. The Titanium strings, for me, take it to a whole different level. They sound great on whatever I put them on: Les Paul, Tele, Strat, or PRS. They sound bight, smooth, and well balanced.

Love these strings

These are my first titanium strings. Nice sound and smooth action. Don't know about longevity. The only strings I will buy from now on.
