Hands down, one of the best upgrades you can do for your Switch
The factory plastic buckles are far too soft a plastic. I don't like to click my joy cons into place, I always hold the button down while I attach them and release afterward, and even then I found noticeable notching in the plastic when I went to put these metal buckles in. When those buckles wear too much, they don't lock in anymore, and the joy cons can slide right out of the rails, which isn't exactly a great thing when you're holding the console while playing. These are really not very hard to install, but have added an unspeakable amount of peace of mind into my ownership. I install them into every new joy con I buy.

Best upgrade and joycons security!!!
These are a very awesome and functional upgrade! If you have a little skill in taking apart and assembling small things and some patient's or have them installed by a store or a good friend. My Switch is one of the original Switches so my locks were loose and my joycons would just fall out if you held it by them aaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhh!!!! These work so well and now my joycons are solid do not rattle or release on there own. Pay attention to which way they go cause you can install them the wrong way round and they will never hold. My joycons feel tighter than original and they do not rattle at all. While your in there consider changing the sticks and battery if they are old and drifting or not holding much of a charge. Only tip I have if they send the tri-wing screw driver throw it in the trash and get a decent one. No matter what you do they will strip screws although mine came with new tri-wing screws the screwdriver will strip them. You can find good ones in a kit for cheap. That's it buy them you can't go wrong they work very very well.

I highly recommend this product
I got these for my Nintendo Switch after the JoyCon started to unlatch itself with minimum pressure, easy to install, didn’t take more than five minutes to install, all you need a micro phillips screw driver, a 0 size tri-wing screw driver and a tweezers.1- Start by removing the 4 phillips on the back of the JoyCon and pry the cover with your fingernails and be careful not to damage the ribbon cables between the cover and the controller.2- undo the silver phillips screw that holds the rails to the back cover.3- undo the black phillips screw that holds the metal bracket on top of the rail, using the tweezers try to pry under the metal bracket slowly closer to its ends not to bend it.4- once the metal bracket is off, carefully compress the the spring that holds the old plastic buckle and pull it towards you carefully so it doesn’t shoot out.5- replace the plastic buckle with the metal one and go through the steps backwards and you’re good to go.

Buckle Up!
For those of you who are looking at this product, you're probably of one of two schools of thought: one, you are looking to upgrade the sturdiness of your Switch controllers, or two, you dropped your Switch and the buckles buckled like a bag full of stomped Cheetos. I was of the second school of thought. I didn't know that the buckles originally installed in-factory were made of plastic; some of you probably didn't know, either. You may have to look up a video on how to install the new buckles, but I promise you, it's worth it. Where the slightest drop/fall can and probably will damage and destroy the plastic buckles' ability to hold your controllers in place with the tablet, the metal ones will not budge. I promise you, I was foolhardy enough to do a little drop test for the rest of you.By accident. I dropped it by accident.Point being, I have pulled and tugged on the controllers (post-install) within reason, and couldn't dislodge them. I think you're in good hands with these, whether you're looking to do a repair or just looking to ensure you never experience that frustration in the first place.

A good upgrade, but at your own risk
After dealing with my joy cons being loose and detaching from the screen and controller links, I went ahead and bought these clips to install in their place. They work fantastically and add a much better metal click to the traditional switch click lock. It's very satisfying. I will say however, it is not for the feint of heart to take apart joy cons. If you take them apart, make sure you know what you are doing. Otherwise, I would leave it up to someone who has done it before. There are very delicate parts inside the joycon and if you open it the wrong way you can cause more issues than you had before this upgrade.

Great Upgrade for those with steady hands
One of the many issues that Nintendo Switch owners face is Joy-Cons that have trouble staying locked in place. This item remedies that for a very low price. Be warned, you will be voiding your warranty by installing these and some experience with the internals of Nintendo equipment is suggested. I have installed these on a total of 4 Joy-Cons all within 30 minutes. You'll need a tri wing and a Philips head screwdriver to install these. After about 5 minutes per Joy-Con they will be locked in place fully and will require you to press the button to release them, as intended. There are several videos on YouTube that will show you how to install these. The only downsides are that they did not include the necessary tools (understandable given the low price) and the fact that if you drop your Switch at an angle that would normally cause your Joy-Con to pop off after this upgrade there may be somewhat more severe damage as they are locked in place with a bit of metal. As long as you're careful that last part won't be an issue. I can't recommend these highly enough if your Joy-Cons are already out of warranty and are not locking buy this item.

Great solution to loose latches
Clips feel more sturdy when connecting or disconnecting joycons from switch. Easy to installSprings provided made the release buttons softer to press but these worked great. I used original springs for my switch and the new springs for my sons switch. My sons joycons used to detach from the tablet with the slightest pressure, now the switch is secure. To replace the latches in both our switches took maybe 10-15 minutes total to do all 4 joycon.

It works great
Took some time to replace due to not checking the orientation prior to removing, but once they were in my controllers stopped sliding out of my console.

Great locks but springs are not for lock
The locks are great they are a Metal black color and work great switch feels like new only thing is the springs are not for the lock itself witch I thought I would be cuz I lost the spring that came with the joycon and now it feels loose dissapointed with that other then that they do the job

A quick and easy upgrade that is worth doing!
These metal joycon locks are a replacement for the rather brittle plastic locks that come with the joycons by default, they fit perfectly fine and are easy to install. The plastic joycon locks you get by default are sadly very weak and it only takes one bad bump to the joycons when they're attached to the switch for them to chip or shatter and now your joycon can't lock into the rail anymore and will slide up and down easily. These metal clips prevent that from happening.Installation is very easy in my opinion. It's worth doing this to get used to taking apart a joycon as due to the very bad design of the analog sticks, that drifting issue that Nintendo don't care to try and fix, you'll likely have to swap those out yourself if you can't afford new joycons or your warranty is up.

Great part
Good quality parts, installation was fiddly but simple and the latches now feel great, not any wobble at all.
