RECAPS Stainless Steel Refillable Filter Reusable Pod Compatible with Illy Machines 1 Piece

Bought this in May and have been using it daily in our Illy machine. It is very well made and pretty. easy to use and clean. We played around with the grind settings on our grinder a 6.5 worked best which is a bit less than the espresso grind. We run it empty after each use to keep it clean. Don't need if it is required but works for us. It doesn't come with a tamper but we found a bottle cap works well. Don't tamp too hard.We get great creamer and the flow is excellent. Great product for the price.We want to purchase another so we can have two capsules ready for the morning. Don't lose the 'O'-ring gasket. It comes with extra ones. Would like to know how to order more of them to have on hand.

I've had this capsule for several months and it's exceeded my expectations. I had read earlier reviews and made a minor adjustment to the capsule (not sure I needed to, but I did it anyway). The bottom opening has a silicone seal and I poked a little hole in it because it seemed like the coffee might not flow out properly otherwise. The capsule works well if you're willing to take a little time when making coffee. I fill the capsule, tap it on the counter to settle the coffee, repeat that step until the coffee is near the top of the capsule. I then tamp it down with the little scoop provided, add a little more coffee, tamp again and repeat until the coffee is level with the top of the capsule. I then screw the top on securely and put it in the holder and in the machine. NOTE: The FrancisFrancis has a set volume it dispenses & turns itself off automatically when using the plastic Illy capsules. That does NOT seem to happen with the steel capsule. I just watch the volume and turn the machine off when the desired amount of espresso is in the cup. I try to keep the capsule clean: I scrape out used grounds with a wooden chopstick and thoroughly rinse the top and bottom to make sure no grounds remain. I've been using Cafe Bustelo, saving money, using less plastic and still enjoying a good cup of coffee. I would recommend this for anyone trying to be a little more eco-conscious.

I like the option of not using the pods. Especially if you run out and need an espresso fix. I have used it many times. Just be careful not to grab it out right after use. It is very hot!

After a few coffees the device clogs and spills all over the machine. Not inside the cup.Product service recommends cleaning it hot which I did and brushing with a toothbrush with I did. Same spilling all over the machine. I also used the coffee ground as recommended.I purchased two of these devices just in case something was wrong with the first. The second has the same problem.I do not recommend this device.In my experience this product should be removed from Amazon's listings.If I may add I am quite experienced with coffee and coffee machines.

The first cup I brewed with my Illy Y3.2 with it was great. All the subsequent ones didn't work. No water would come out and the water would back-fill into the empty cup container. Only after slightly toying with the bottom part of the refillable pod was I able to get it back working.- In the bottom of the pod there is a metal mesh disk attached to a plastic disk that protrudes from a hole in the bottom. Use a small knife or some small implement to poke it out.- The plastic disk has a smaller free-moving plastic disk attached to its center. Between the two is a silicone disk. Gently pry the smaller free-moving plastic disk out, watching out to not lose the silicone disk inside. I just used my fingernails.- The silicone disk has a seam cut into its center. Use a sharp implement (I used the tip of a steak knife) and widen the seam.- Reassemble, and be sure to use the silicone gasket between the upper and lower potions of the pod when you close it.My guess is that small silicone disk was sealed together strongly enough to not let through any water. Even slightly widening the seam immediately made it all work as normal. It's a good product for the money, though having to break it open and everything was really annoying.

They make drinking the coffee very inexpensive. And you can put any brand in them. Although they fit an early machine are use Lavazza ESPRESSO. Chili pods cost about $1.20 a pod. These cost about $.10 to fill up.

This product rocks! I’m going to buy a second one. The first reusable I purchased was from another manufacturer. While it looked the same, it was a total failure. Big mess to clean up. Kept trying until this one arrived in the mail. Works beautifully. Sent the other one back!

La RECAP funciona a la perfección, lo he probado con café Illy Molido Espresso Clásico y Blend recien abierta la lata, de 1-3 días el sabor y aroma son muy similares a las capsulas de iperespresso. recomiendo ampliamente el producto.Ahorro y menos contaminación por desechos plásticos.El equipo utilizado es el mismo del vídeo "Francis Francis Illy Y1.1". Es conveniente reprogramar la altura del espresso, para que quede al gusto. (se deja oprimido el botón y lo liberas hasta la altura deseada)

Si tratta di un prodotto di ottima qualità costruttiva che funziona davvero bene e dopo 6 mesi di utilizzo non mostra alcun segno di cedimento. L'unica pecca di questo articolo è il prezzo. Le capsule Illy non sono assolutamente economiche e questa soluzione consente di risparmiare parecchio sul lungo periodo, ma richiede un investimento iniziale non indifferente. Io ho pagato più di 20 euro per una singola capsula e a molte famiglie servirà avere 3,4,5 capsule, perché dopo aver fatto il caffè la capsula sarà bollente ed è scomodo e difficoltoso svuotarla, pulirla e riutilizzarla subito. La soluzione migliore è sicuramente avere una capsula a testa, ma per 5 persone parliamo già di oltre 100 €...
