Contains Titanium Dioxide
I was recommended to take Florastor after dealing with never ending Candida overgrowth issues, IBS and a digestive system that just doesn't work properly. I have used several brands of pro biotics in the past and they just never made things better or made things worse.Floraster is a type of yeast that is said to crowd out the bad guys. After starting it I did notice a huge improvement over night. My digestive system was working more normal then it has in quite some time. I had more solid stools, could feel my digestive system actually working instead of just sitting at a stand still and the cramps from IBS were gone. The pills are on the larger side, but easy to swallow. One thing with this type of probiotic is you have to keep taking it long term. It's out of your system in just a couple of days and if stopped the symptoms might come back. I do wonder if taking it long term will get your body to become used to it and they won't work anymore. You are to avoid certain foods when taking it that can kill off the yeast. There is a booklet inside that cover all of that.It does not need to be put in the fridge and unlike other brands that say you can put them in the fridge Florastor says not to. It should be kept below 77 degrees. The product itself is great and does what it says, however there is one major negative about it and the reason why I gave it 2 stars. The reason is it contains Titanium Dioxide. Titanium Dioxide is used to make things white....which Florastor pills are white. It's used in some soaps, toothpastes, sunscreen and makeup.Looking up safety facts there is not one single thing about it being safe. In fact all you can find is how bad it is. It has been linked to cancers, hair loss, skin issues, lung inflammation and damage, DNA changes and immune system function issues. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration of course says it's safe for consumption, but they are also the same ones that allow carcinogens in food that have been proven to cause cancer. There is no reason why this nasty stuff should be in it. A product that is marketed so much and is pushed by so many GI doctors is only causing more issues.Once I saw it had Titanium Dioxide I returned it. There are plenty of other saccharomyces boulardii supplements on the market that don't contain it that are just as effective. Florastor is an expensive supplement. You are basically paying for the name.I don't recommend Florastor simply because of the Titanium Dioxide. Go with another brand of saccharomyces boulardii that doesn't have it.

Edited: Now Titanum dioxide-free!
Update: Florastor has removed the titanium dioxide, which they used to make the capsule white, so I'm upping my review from 1 star to 4. I'll definitely try it again.Original review: This probiotic really has possibly helped a little, but the main reason for my review is my discovery that the capsules are colored with titanium dioxide -- a potentially toxic or harmful substance. Why they add this to the product, especially without disclosing it on the BOTTLE, is beyond me. Won't be buying again.

Great product for individuals with IBS! I am near regular again. A bit expensive, though.
This probiotic is absolutely amazing. It is completely different from other probiotics I have tried, but it all depends on your own GI tract. Other probiotics have given me either constipation or diarrhea completely, whereas this one regulates me as long as I take it twice a day. I was taking it only once a day with a ton of improvement, but now that I take it twice a day it's almost as if I'm normal again. It has so many good reviews, is recommended highly by the pharmacist I asked about it, and research done on this product (e.g., PubMed) has shown that it is very useful for even those with inflammatory bowel diseases. I have cyclic vomiting syndrome and IBS and this has actually improved both syndromes' symptoms. It has also improved my GERD almost completely. I've also noticed I had an increase in energy as well when I started taking it twice a day. The only complaint is that it's a bit expensive, but since it helps me so much I'm sort of forced by buy it and take it twice a day.I just wish that they would offer some kind of discount or something for this product because it gets very expensive and I can't really afford to spend $57 every one and a half months since I have to take it twice a day. It really adds up, but I need it, unfortunately.

I have my life back!
I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in May of 2013. By the end of the year, I had my colon removed. The following year, I had my rectum removed and a J-pouch formed. I was warned by my surgeon that I had a condition known as pouchitis even before the final surgery. I suffered with it for months taking pain killers and rounds of antibiotics that brought relief while I was taking them, but as soon as I ran out of the antibiotic the pouchitis was worse than ever. Many people take antibiotic regularly to treat their ongoing pouchitis. My gastroenterologist suggested Florastor because I told her I couldn't afford the other probiotic that had given some improvement. As soon as I started taking Florastor, I started feeling better. I haven't taken an antibiotic since. I tried a couple of times to stop taking it, but the pain and urgency showed up again; so I know it's still working. I wonder if I had known about Florastor before my surgeries if I might have been spared all that pain and suffering. If you have any kind of irritable bowel disorder, I recommend that you give Florastor a try.

Always take a probiotic when you are prescribed an antibiotic, always take a probiotic!
I have used this probiotic in the past. The price and quantities are better from Amazon.Whenever you are prescribed an antibiotic, it is important to also take a probiotic in order to keep your gut “in balance”. Not doing so, can, and probably will result in an imbalance which can cause severe problems, such as c-diff, a bacterial infection. That is what happened to me, several weeks after finishing my prescription for Cipro. I ended up in the emergency room and spent three days on IVs . Don’t ever take antibiotics, unless you are also taking a good probiotic, such as Florastor.

Are these real?
Why is this brown now??? I have some of my originally purchased pills on the right and the bottle on the left is the current purchase - it looks completely different.
