In my experience, a crappy piece of poorly designed plastic.
I have a 16" Wagner electric chainsaw with a one hole bar. Online information indicates how to make this "sharpener" work with the one-hole bar and this was followed. The device clam-shells shut and has a locking piece to hold it closed while it operates. This looks completely inadequate to me under any circumstamce. The design of the device will not allow it to close enough for the lock to engage so the clamshell falls open as soon as you position it to sharpen. If the bar were thinner, it might have worked ... not sure if other saws are built that way but mine is not. My gripe is with the design as it relates to my saw. Since it could not be made to operate, I can't address how well it sharpens the blades.I picked up a Chicago Electric sharpener from Harbor Freight for $35 ... spent 30 minutes unpacking, securing to work bench and learning to use ... and in another 20 minutes sharpened the chain better-than-new ... four cuts through an 18" palm trunk in less than 10 minutes. That vs an hour and a half trying to figure out what i was missing in the minimal chinenglish instructions trying to get this bloody thing to work.Saw teeth are supposed to be sharpened at an angle (30 degrees in my case). No way for this device to do that and would likely produce poorly sharpened blades and reduce the chain's service life significantly.Dont buy a $13 tool to solve a $35 problem. The results are usually poor.

Great buy for the price
Sharpens chain in seconds which is great but needs a better locking mechanism to hold the casing steady when your about to sharpen Y our blade

does not work on all chain saws
The sharpener would not lock in order to operate. Disappointed as I had hopes of the practicality of the product

Honest opinion
The product is crude, as long as you’re not a dumb sh!t....you should be ok. It does work!

Perplexed
The chainsaw sharpener was easy enough to use and set up, but it just continued to cut poorly and burn more than cut. I have a Poulan Pro that has great power after I tuned it up; however, I have never had any luck sharpening the Oregon replacement chains. The new Oregon cuts well for about an hour's worth of work and then the sawdust becomes fine and the cutting is slow (dull chain) I have used the flat file/round file combination as well as a Dremel attachment and now this sharpener. After, less than reasonable improvement, I then replace the Oregon with a new Oregon and we are off to good cutting with chips instead of dust and no wood burning. So, suggestions? Different chain? Sharpening should help, but it just doesn't seem to. The instructions say 3-5 seconds; no luck. I tried 10, still no luck. Longer?

Good but one problem.
Needs a clamp to hold it on but otherwise works well.
