O'SKOOL Display Veneer Edge Banding Sealing Iron

My last veneer iron died and I replaced it. I immediately used it and it worked perfect perfectly. I like the display which is much better than what I had before. I don’t see how they can do better.

I got this iron to replace a 30-year-old one that had been dropped several times cracking all the plastic pieces. This new iron works very well; the controls are easy to use, and the digital temperature readout is nice. It heats up fast and holds the temperature well. It seems fairly sturdy and just does what I expect it to do.

It's less than half the price of the "pro" unit for tacking photos to heat press tissue for subsequent mounting in a heat press. The key difference is this unit has adjustable temperature, which the D&K (pro unit) lacks--for a good reason. For tacking hot melt adhesive tissue to photos there are only two temps: the right one and the wrong one. 210F is the right temp (all other temps are wrong), so set it to 210F and never change it (for photo applications only). Happy mounting!PS--I don't use the shoe (press end) cover for tacking. Just hit the adhesive directly with the uncovered iron (don't hold it there too long though).

I tried this edge banding iron after my cheap clothing iron broke. Save your money and just buy a cheap clothing iron. This one’s surface area is too small and doesn’t seem to get hot enough or rather the small surface area doesn’t get entirely hot like it does on a much larger iron. Would not recommend or buy again.

We use item for our airplanes and it is so nice to have the digital readout and simple push button temperature adjustment. Comes with a little wire stand and again works fantastic!!
