I’ve had the matt for three weeks, and already the rubber is chipping off and leaving scuff marks. I’m really careful, but I do walk on it a few hours a day. I love the way it looks and feels, but all the little rubber chips are annoying, and make the product look cheep. This wasn't a cheep product, but at this rate I’ll have to replace it soon.Thanks,Jess

My mat is already falling apart after just a couple months of light use. Amazon doesn’t have an option for me to contact the seller. I was under the impression this very durable, sturdy and sturdy and we just use tennis shoes on it. I’m really hoping the seller will respond and offer a replacement I’m so very disappointed and had recommend this to several friends and now I’m going to need to call them and take back my recommendation. Please respond to my review so we can settle this. I love the mat, just not all the rubbing off and black pieces falling off everywhere. I’d so love a happy resolution.

I ordered 3 of these mats as I opened a new yoga space for clients. I teach Buti yoga, which is sweaty and intense. After one use, it was clear these mats would not work for us. Within 5 minutes, my students were wiping their hands and even their feet, trying to get more traction on the mats. One student literally put her socks back on because that was better than just the mat.I contacted the company and was told there was a break-in period. I have used probably 6 brands of yoga mats and understand break-in periods. This was like trying to do yoga on an ice rink. I told them I wanted to return them given that the description above lists a lifetime guarantee for the product. They told me to contact Amazon for the return.Here's where it gets really good. Amazon agreed to let me return them, but I had already recycled the boxes they came in. Stupid me. Because when I brought them to UPS, Amazon's return shipper, there were no boxes that would fit the mats. I was sent to a UPS distribution center next, which also had no boxes to fit the mats. I came home and contacted Amazon again. They told me to arrange a pick-up in "any box I had available." I reiterated to them that I have no box that will fit this mat. There was no available option, I was told.SO--learn from my $450 mistake. These are not suitable for a sweaty form of yoga. I really don't even understand how anyone uses them for any yoga. Downdog is downright dangerous. And if you do decide to take a chance on them, SAVE THE BOX THEY COME IN.

I got this product because I have hardwood floors and my wife was upset I was doing beachbody workouts and ruining them with my sweat. I got the 9x6 one, and I feel it is plenty big to do MMA and Insanity. I do not ruin my floors anymore and it is plenty big and durable. I have only had this for about 3 weeks but I've had zero issues and definitely believe it was worth the price. I did a Fakespot review on this product before I bought it, and was satisfied with it being around 80% given the amount of reviews. I do not believe any of the reviews are fake though after owning the mat. Plus the owner has reached out to me 3 different times to ask if I've had any problems. It's a thick nice mat and it was worth the price to keep my wife from getting upset with me over sweating all over our living room. I will say this, you will like the mat, and if you don't you will have 3 emails from the owner you can respond to and just tell him you don't like it. He will help you. Anyway, happy workout!

We are thrilled with our new Gorilla mats for our Kindermusik class! They are so easy to move on, sit on and jump on! We were using crash pads before and they kept moving underneath us and were very awkward to use. I’ve been looking for this type of large yoga mat for literally over a year!! No one else makes them the size and quality as this company! Highly highly recommended!!

I purchased this mat to replace a rug that we used for exercise in our basement.I do a combination of yoga, body resistance and weight training with and without shoes.I wanted it to be large (to replace a 5x8 rug) but not too cushioned.I have used it a couple of times so far and it definitely makes barefoot cardio exercising much better.The first time I stepped back into lunge, I literally felt there was something on the bottom of my foot.It's great for routine yoga practice - it is QUITE cushioned, so if you like a thinner mat, this one might not be for you.This mat is intended for barefoot practice - I have been advised it is okay to use sneakers, but avoid high impact.I don't do much high impact training, so should not be much of an issue. I have yet to exercise on it with sneakers.The mat arrived quickly and in good condition. It is very nice looking and there is no odor. I am enjoying having it in our home.

I debated with myself for awhile before I purchased this Gorilla Mat. Did I really need a 9' x 6' exercise mat? Could I justify the purchase price? Well, I finally bought it and am pleased that I did. This mat has really enhanced my comfort while exercising. I also like the increase in the space size to exercise and feel secure from slipping. I have permanently laid it on my living room hardwood floor and have received many positive comments about it. I do exercise BAREFOOT because it specified for barefoot usage. There are other mats available for purchase on Amazon which specify to wear shoes if that is your preferred method. I purchased the Gorilla Mat in the color black. I have not encountered any discoloring of the soles of my feet or on my hardwood floor.

The quality of the mat seems to be pretty good, size it exactly what I needed and it's going to be the right mat for the new workout space. The only nit I have to pick is there was some tape on the back side of the mat, maybe left over from packaging or something- when I started to pull that off, it began to tear a chunk out of the back of the mat. I stopped before it became a major issue, but be warned in case you find a piece on the back of your mat.Also, the offgassing that folks mention is unavoidable- it goes away, and would happen with any similar mat.
