I was really surprised how well these were packaged for shipping. Each piece is the same size and thickness and worked perfect for attaching to driftwood. Drilling holes was easy.

I have mine down on the "floor" of my beardies tanks as an extension of their basking area. They seem to appreciate having the option of a slightly less hot basking spot. Also helps keep their nails trimmed somewhat. Anyways, if you want to use as your main basking slate, you might want to find one that's a little wider, but this is great as an addition.

both slates arrived in great condition, my tortoise loves eating on these, it keeps all substrate out of his food. definitely recommend

This is thinner than I was expecting and had a small chip on one of the edges. It does however hold in heat really well and gives my turtles a "manicure" as they walk around on it.Just wish it was thicker.

I feel like if they packaged this product better they wouldn’t have so many breaking on them. I returned my broken one yesterday and ordered a replacement which arrived today. It is really beautiful and my turtles love it!

Our bearded dragon loves his basking spot.

I use this in my guinea pig's cage to keep his nails filed down and to keep them from curling. It works for that but seriously the lightest tap, like me setting it on a table it breaks apart. This is dangerous because if I didn't notice and left a piece on the ground one of my animals or one of my family members could get hurt, two of my dogs are service dogs, one in training and one retired so their health is imperative to my ability to function.
