A very dodgy batch perhaps?
I have been drinking this Chase gin for a couple of years and the flavour of the two bottles of Grapefruit and Pomelo I ordered is not normal. It has a "smokey" odour and it leaves an after taste. The citrus flavour is also very much suppressed in both of these two bottles. I opened the other one straight away to see if that had a normal taste and odour, but it was the same. Maybe they have changed it, in which case, sadly, I am not a fan anymore. I was a big advocate, I have previously taken the Chase Distillery tour!I thought perhaps it was fake, as it was discounted, but the bottle and labelling looks very authentic.Unfortunately this means I am going to have to discard these bottles and find another gin favourite! Disappointed!

Well...what can I say...?2 measures of this, 3 measures of Prosecco, a splash of soda, ice & a slice of grapefruit...et Voila ! Enjoy. We did !

this is very good indeed. Highly recommended
The trouble with the Gin revolution, is that it doesnt really live up to that. We have an explosion of new Gins, but most can't hold a candle to even the old staples of Gordon's or Tanqueray. How refreshing to find a gin that challenges the norm, and gives us a really different flavour to that which we are used to. Heavy on Juniper, but well balanced with other botanicals, this is very good indeed. Highly recommended.

A good gin for somebody, but not for me
I so wanted to love this British gin. As a premium priced gin, I bought this on offer to try it. It has a BIG flavour, similar to Plymouth or any of the other navy gins, but somehow lacks the smoothness or alcohol volume at only 40%. For me there was a bitter aftertaste which prevented me from sipping it neat and failed to be subdued by my favourite tonic. It is, as advertised, very dry. Perhaps a male palate might find it more delighting. I certainly failed get the nuances of apple and fruitiness that other reviewers have mentioned. Just robust, dry and juniper. Maybe with a hint of thyme? Would I recommend it? If you like big, clouty flavours, give it a try. Personally, it's all a bit too much for me. Including the thumping headache it gives when you drink too much.

One of my favourite flavoured gins
One of my favourite flavoured gins. I just cant stop at one, so a bottle doesn't last me long! Its so refreshing and moreish. You can really taste the grapefruit without having to mix a triple or bigger measure, as I find with my favourite warners rhubarb gin. My other halfs recent order for my christmas present was allegedly smashed by Yodel (really cant believe this judging by how well my first bottle was packaged!!), so Im a bit gutted, but Im sure I'll treat myself again soon.

Tastes a bit strange
I was keen to try this flavour as I love Slingsby Rhubarb gin so the addition of bramley apples to a rhubarb gin intrigued me. To be honest, I found the taste a bit strange and to me there's nothing reminiscent of gin there. It's easy to drink but I wouldn't buy again, certainly not at the usual price.

Another great Chase gin
Chase really know how to make a gin and this is a great variation from them. A lot of distillers who produce fruit variations end up with a chemical like after taste but they've done a great job with this. Personally i like having one of these amongst some other more classic gins as it's a great change of pace. Drink with a neutral and light tonic

Even, proportionate flavour, with juniper not being lost.
I absolutely love this gin. The smell and flavour are just amazing. I really can smell juniper, pomelo and pink grapefruit in even proportion! None is overpowering. So delicious. I find it tastiest with Mediterranean tonic. Although with aromatic is not too bad too. I add pink grapefruit and juniper berries, on the cooler day I add 1-2 cardamom pods in too. But, honestly, adding nothing would be just as nice. Absolute favourite.
