Great door
Used this for our outside cats to get into our feed room in the barn. Easy to lock & install. Sturdy. Seals great.

Works Great
It was an easy Install. Using the directions I traced the outline of the larger piece on the door with a pencil the I used painters tape on the door all around the outline so the circular saw would not scratch the door. Then insert the 2 pieces to make sure it fits before removing tape. I didn't have to cut any plastic pieces. Then screwed each piece on the Door. Cats Love it.

Need Replacement
Love the door. I only wish you could replace the plexi door. My kitties have scratched going in and out with their faces and teeth do it’s not clear. This is the second time I’ve replaced it. Have to buy the whole assembly Wish I could just order the plexi door.

Nice quality
Install was easy even though a cut out template was not provided. Quality is good and I like the 4 position locking option. The magnetic return of the door is a really nice feature too.

Cats can push through/accidentally turn lock!
I bought two of these about a year ago. These doors work great… until they don’t. They are a relatively flimsy construction, which isn’t a huge deal because they are meant for cats, not coyotes. That being said, my very average sized American short hairs have managed to accidentally lock themselves out of their litter room once by turning the lock with their paws- the locking mechanism turns with very little force and is not covered to prevent this from happening accidentally. The other door is installed in a room I try to keep the cats out of, so I keep it locked one way in case they ever sneak in without me noticing so they can let themselves out. Twice now they have pushed the door until it bends enough to slip over the locking mechanism and let themselves in, but the angle of the door against the lock in that direction won’t flex enough to bend for them to let themselves out. In short, they can push through the lock exactly the direction I don’t want them to go, but cannot push past it again to free themselves. This most recently happened when I was away at work, and the cats were locked in a room away from their food, water and litter for about 6 hours. The flimsy plastic construction of the door, frame and lock mean this is a problem that is going to happen again and again, so I am going to have to find a replacement. If your cats are curious (you know, like most cats) they will find a way around the lock and end up locked in or locked out in a way that is inconvenient and potentially dangerous. I can’t recommend this product.

Quick install, snug fit, easy to push open
The media could not be loaded. Just got it today and installed it, so I cannot speak to its longevity. Should it break in a short time, I will update the review.I can see the plastic door getting scratched up after a while as a distinct possibility, but frankly, how is that supposed to be prevented? We wanted one with the ability for the cats to see through, so unless you want one with an opaque swinging door, I think you are just going to have to assume that over time, the clear plastic will have visible scratches and smudges. Right now it's perfect (just installed) but I will come back with an update as to how long it took before it got scratched up (I'm just assuming it's going to happen.)Install was super easy for me, just a drill, drill bit, screwdriver and jigsaw. The thickness of my door was perfect for it, and mine are standard doors, so most people should be OK. I think these are 2 3/8" doors... I THINK! So I didn't have to cut down the plastic at all, but I can see how that would be obnoxious and hard to do, so I got lucky, but not really. Like I typed earlier, these are designed to fit standard thickness doors, and it did.I did not use the wood strip they recommend getting (not included), nor did I use double sided tape. When I cut the door, I cut it on the small side (so I thought), and it turns out it was super-duper snug but not actually too small. I was actually afraid it might be pinching it to the point where I would not be able to fit the second piece, but I got lucky and it fit so tight that I didn't bother to remove it and use the other items. I didn't see the point. If in a little while I notice it starts to get loose, I'll update, but at that point, that will be my fault, as I am admitting I didn't fully follow the instructions (yeah...lazy, I know). My only complaint, even though I am giving it five stars, is that the screws you get are soooo soft, that you want to make sure you use a screwdriver and not a power drill to install them. I barely touched the screws with the drill and it stripped the heads. I was able to salvage it and make it work, but the last 6 I put in by hand, with a screwdriver, without incident. Use the right size screwdriver too or you might have an issue. The 4-way mechanism is straightforward, seems like it will be durable (I'll update as needed), and it doesn't take a lot of effort to push it open, so even little cats and kittens can do it once they are trained.I would recommend, and I like that it comes in white because I think black on my doors would look funny.

Functional but NOT TRULY PET PROOF! Pets can DEFEAT the lock.
OVERALL:- Functional but could be improved.- Not hard to install. See pictures of installation into outer garage door. I made a template to get a close fit up. I added duct tape to seal up the foam core to the door.NOT TRULY PET PROOF!- Our small, but tough, dog can power his way into the door and blow right through the lock. The door, however, never seems to be the worse for wear.- When configured for one-way passage, our cats have figured out how to open up the door by hooking their claws into it and pulling it open.I ended up adding an inner door to really close it up when we need to.OTHER COMMENTS:- Hard to see the twist-dial lock settings which are close to the ground.- Does not seal off a driving rain.

Works great
Exactly as described. Large cats and smaller dogs easily get through. Love that I have the option to lock in different directions. Easy installation and good quality as used for an outside exit.

Sehr leise Katzenklappe
