Good, practical soutuion!
A part such this is destined to be a bit of a crap shoot because there's no standard for the dimensions for the inside of a 2-inch "stinger" on a bike rack or ball hitch. But the malleable design of this bracket makes it suitable for fitting a variety of different racks.I bought this bracket to mate up with a Swagman locking 5/8" hitch pin, and installed in a bike rack called a "Upright Tote'm" (aka Totem Pole bike rack before the name change). The Tote'm rack threads the stinger, but they use a non-standard pitch (or maybe metric?) so it's a no-go with all of the commonly available locking hitch pins.My solution was to over-drill just one of the threaded holes on the Tote'm, and this anti-wobble nut takes over by engaging with my threaded pin.Because the Heininger nut bracket is plastic (the blue part as pictured; in actuality it's yellow), it is easily shaved down to size to the proper dimension to insert in the stinger. As I took gentle whacks at it with the mallet, the plastic shaved itself (I'm holding one of the curls of self-shaved plastic in the photo). Once the bracket was fully in the tube, I trimmed a piece of wood to roughly fit inside the tube and continue driving the bracket into alignment with the pin hole.If you opt for using a knife, don't shave too much plastic off, because the bracket needs to hold tightly once inserted so that you won't have to goof with alignment each time you install it. Once this is installed, you'll want it to stay in place so that the included square nut is always lined up with the pin hole drilled in the tube.Don't be concerned that the material used is plastic -- this is only used as a device to hold this nut in place when not in use. The plastic also prevents the nut from turning when the hitch pin is being tightened (imagine it's a plastic socket), but because it's bound by the steel tube, there's no room for it to be deflected or deformed by the square nut it's carrying. It also won't rust if it's exposed to the weather.Once you hit the road, the plastic ceases to be a factor -- it's just the nut and the bolt doing what nuts and bolts do: securely clamping two pieces of steel together. The plastic piece doesn't carry any load; it just sits there. All in all a need, tidy, adaptable solution to a threaded hitch pin. Unless of course the thickness of the steel tubing you're inserting this in is so thing that it fits loosely. In that case, all bets are off!I do recommend that, after removing your rack or hitch, you still a pin or bolt into the pin hole and lightly engage the nut, as a preventive step to keep this properly aligned.

Good Product
Works okey. If fits loosely in the Soft-ride bike carrier so you have to be careful inserting it into the hitch so it does slide and become mid-aligned with the bolt hole. I fixed this by jamming a piece of cardboard between the inside of the trailer hitch and the yellow plastic corrugated edge. If I didn’t use it for another hitch I would simply epoxy it to the inside of the hitch. I’m happy with the product and may purchase another one.

anti-wobble bolt
I have used this to transport a snow blower and also a power washer on my cargo rack and it didn't wobble a bit. Very happy with this purchase. My only complaint with it is that the bolt doesn't go all the way through and have a cotter pin on it for peace of mind that it won't loosen up and fall out, but I could always get one at Home Depot. That said, it has never come loose on me. Nice and sturdy.

I wouldn’t if I were you…
Bought this and installed it to try it out. Installation was straight forward and easy enough.Upon removal after a test the nut spun inside the plastic holder and I had to cut my ball mount in half to get it out of the trucks frame hitch receiver!Amazon did compensate me for the part and the part I had to destroy so I was only out the 2-3 hours it took to restore my vehicles receiver hitch.

Hitch is solid and won't rattle.
Bolt should go all the way through the hitch and have a hole in it to secure a cotter pin.

Works like a charm
This tightened my hitch extension perfectly. Only issue I had was having to file down the plastic piece a little to fit into the extension. Once I was able to squeeze it in, I used a hammer and long bolt to push it in further to line up the hole with the inside nut.

Too expensive
The bolt is too short. And it’s way too expensive.

Bolt thread is stripped won't allow to tighten
Bolt thread is stripped will not continue threading through the nut...now what?
