PennBattle II, Battle III Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

Great setup. Little pricey but I'm happy.

Caught a 40lb and a 25lb amber Jack slow pitch jigging with this outfit. I was the only one out of 3 to catch fish. Would highly recommend. The rod was bent in a tight U and didn’t break.

Overall i’m super happy with this rod/reel combo. Compared to my last rod this one is substantially lighter, making long sessions easy on the arms and back. Plus, the reel holds up well to water given the sealed bearings, which means I’ve had to do very little maintenance.The drag system has an extremely satisfying and quality “ding” to it, which adds to the experience when fighting a fish.The only major downside is that the three rod sections come apart somewhat too easily. I’ve flung off half my rod during a cast on most sessions, and recently lost a nice lure because it snapped my line when the sections came apart. I suggest taping sections together with electrical tape or something of the sorts.It also doesn’t appear to have indicator dots where sections connect to show you’ve got your sections properly aligned - you have to eyeball it. I find if a section is a little crooked you can feel it while reeling, but it can be hard to see how it’s out of line.In general, it’s great value for money and genuinely high quality. I’ve caught 43 striped bass on it already this season with 50lb braided line! It also comes with a convenient and really nice travel case as a great bonus as well as a second spool.
