Delicious if you don't like sweet drinks
I take this unsweetened vanilla spiru-tein for the vitamins and protein it provides. I love the taste. I don't like sweet drinks, and artificial sweeteners of any kind taste horrible to me. So I'm very happy to find an unsweetened one. I mix this into a custard consistency then mix in some chia seeds, and eat it with a spoon, then I drink water. I dont like that is more expensive than the sweetened flavors

Finally an unsweetened protein powder
It's just as described: Unsweetened. Like all the other spirutein powders, it's mixes best in very cold liquid. I personally use almond milk and water with ice then shake in a blender bottle. I add a little agave syrup. This one comes with a 50cc scoop for some reason. All the other powders come with a 60cc scoop. Unsure why.

Tried and true
Love this and used it for years now - I think possibly around 20 years? I like that it doesn't have whey since I don't do dairy and this one isn't sweetened. I've always used this in a fruit smoothie made in a blender so I can't speak to just mixing it in milk or a plain liquid - my recipe is frozen raspberries, blueberries, peaches and a little fresh banana, a little spinach (which you can't taste) and I use diluted white grape juice as I don't really like the taste of milk or even almond, rice, etc. milk in smoothies, though I know lots of people use one of those. I've always used the vanilla, but think I'll try the chocolate after seeing some of the good reviews of the chocolate. I always think the vanilla smells like cake mix! I've always liked the taste. I also like that this has so many vitamins, spirulina and some fiber as well.

A very good product that I've used for years.
I love Spiru-tein unsweetened protein drink. It's got all the ingredients I like, minus the sugar. I add a bit of banana for some sweetness if I need to, throw in a handful of frozen blueberries. It whips up nicely when made with nonfat milk. I tried it with almond milk and the mixture gets very gooey. Not good. Milk seems to be the only thing that works. I do use 3/4 milk and 1/4 carrot juice. My only complaint is that over the years the price has gone up SO dramatically!! When this was sold at Whole Foods, it cost $18. They pulled it from major health stores to only sell in smaller ones, and the price jumped to the 20's. Now, at almost $40, I can only say that if I find something less over-priced that meets my needs, I will switch. The price is ridiculous. The can is only 3/4 full, and there are not as many "servings" as stated on the can.
