a road block for mice
This is easy to use, although gloves are a must. I jammed this in every crack or opening i could find in my cabinets near the pipe openings, taped over with metal duct tape, and I seem to have stopped the sorties into the kitchen. It is very versatile. easily wadded up and poked in whatever size opening you want. Over two months later the blockages are still undisturbed and seem to have been effective.

I purchased for my mouse exclusion project...
First of all, the reason for just four stars instead of five is because it is very poorly packaged. I don't think it would have killed the company to package the product a little bit better because the very second that you open it fibers start to fly out all over the place and they are very dangerous if you are anywhere near food or, well, anywhere at all because they can get into your eyes and are very abrasive on your skin and very dangerous to your pets. Other than that the product is very useful in mouse exclusion (the definition of mouse exclusion is preventing them from getting into your home to start with). In discovering that mice were partying down under my dishwasher and stove I knew I had to do something. I am an animal lover but putting that completely aside, you cannot get rid of mice by poisoning them or laying conventional traps. Not only do those methods ineffective for very long but they are heinously brutal and cruel. The ONLY way to get rid of the little varmints is by "excluding" them from your home.In order to exclude the little munchkins from your house you need to get this product and use rubber gloves with it. Find any holes that you can possibly find that my store coming in through and stuff it in the holes that you find. If it is a hole, for example, behind the stove where the gas comes in, stuff it thoroughly and then mud over it. If you are going under the sink or behind the dishwasher you would stuff this into the holes and then cover with copper mesh using a staple gun as well as adding caulk wherever possible. Peel and stick caulk can be very effectively used after applying the steel wool to smaller spaces.Be certainty always use rubber gloves and dispose of the rubber gloves immediately. Don't bother trying to clean and reuse them. The fibers that come off of steel wool are far too hazardous to even bother taking a chance with.Store the product in a ziplock bag for future use if you have any left.I spotted the first mouse in February and the second one in April and I went through my entire home with the method that I briefly described and I'm pretty sure that I have excluded the critters from my home.

Great to prevent mice from getting in but too expensive for what it is.
I purchased this to put in the holes and large cracks underneath by bathroom and kitchen sinks to prevent mice from entering. It works well for this purpose, but the product is too expensive for what it is.
