When the earbuds are paired i notice the light flashes every few seconds. is this expected? if so, can i disable the lights from flashing when paired?
can I use either earbud in single mode while the other one charges (that is, keep one always in ear and the other in the case, for continuous use)?
If using only one (left side), will it have both left and right side channels in one earbud?
Do these have volume and Google Assistant control?

Second best in ears I’ve ever had, best wireless ones. (1st is discontinued)

Wow. Finally found a pair of in ears that will stay in my f***ing ears haha.I miss the days of fitted earphones, I’m talking like the old JVC jellies that were fitted plastic. Those fit me perfectly. These silicone tipped earphones that the industry loves have never fit me perfectly idk why.I’ve tried so many in ears that I could use for everyday use AND to run. These are the winners.Earphones I’ve tried (ranked highest to lowest for fitment):-Bose SoundSport wired: Best set I’ve ever had. Sound amazing and their silicone tipped earphones shape was perfect for my ear. NEVER fell out. Sadly they are discontinued. You can buy reps on eBay but idk if I trust it.-These earphones: Number 2 solidly, surprisingly great sound.. I’m serious they actually sound just as good if not better than pixel buds a. Amazing fit with the wing tip and they actually come with 3 sizes for different ears. These things NEVER die.. holy, like I don’t even have to switch my earbud ear since one of them lasts my whole shift at work. Amazing value and highly recommend you buy these.-Pixel Buds A: fell out while running but overall best fit I’ve found for me aside from these. Great sound quality and great touch controls.-AirPods 2: fit well and generally functioned well. Fell out while running.-MoonDrop Space Travel: good seal but too heavy. They do not get very loud either but good sound quality overall.-pixel buds pro(1): terrible fitment that constantly fell out when I’d eat lunch at work trying to talk to my girlfriend. Terrible shape. Best sound quality out of all of these aside from the Bose ones.

Try Them You'll Like Them

Purchased Soundcore by Anker Life A1 earbuds and really like them. They block out a huge amount of noise and the sound quality is phenomenal. Working around the farm, I use equipment as well as a lot of power tools which just fade into the background. These buds have an app that needs to be downloaded on your phone in order to use them. Still trying to figure that thing out, not overly techy tbh. These buds have four different sizes of ear tips as well as three sizes of outer sleeves which make them fit better in your ears hence block out more noise. Other than the sound quality, the price is great as well. I haven't and probably won't try them with phone calls so I can't give any info there. Connecting takes seconds they prompt you when they're ready to play. So if you like your music more than you like outside noise, by all means spend the money for Soundcore by Anker Life A1 buds. I think you'll appreciate them.

Some improvements over the Dot 2s, but also steps back.

I have been a long time Anker fan. I have found their products to be a reasonable quality and at an agreeable price. My family has had a dozen or so of their headphone products over the years. We have seervals of their BT speakers and many chargers. I myself have had 3 pairs of Anker Life Dot 2s and about as many Soundbud Curves before that. I use them a lot and end up using them up, but find them a to have been a good choice.I needed to replace my aging set of Life Dot 2s and found them discontinued, The Life A1 seemingly replacing them at a $10 price increase. Upon opening the case I found what looks to be the Life Dot 2 with some tweaks. I was initially a mix of confused and happy. I liked the Dot 2s but knew they had some issues. But I recognized I paid more the the A1s than my past Dot 2s.Asfor the changes, the case is smaller, which is nice. It could have less charge capacity. It sits in the pocket better so if capacity was impacted it seems to be a decent trade. They certainly also found some space with some adjustments to how the units sit in the case. I think I like the Life A1 case a bit better. The ear anchor wings seems a bit more robust. Life Dot 2s biggest issue was the ear anchors wings. They were comfortable, but they stretched out quickly and were normally in need of replacement before the units were toast. The A1 has wings that seem on initial inspection to be more robust and so far (about a month in) they are much improved. Worth noting is that their robustness is a bit harder on my ears when I wear them for extending periods, but that is just a trade off. From the outside the actual bud that holds the electronics is unchanged. This seemingly includes the action button in each device. To me this could be seen as a bad thing. The buttons age poorly. They stretch out and eventually fail. About half of my past Dot 2 units ended their life with the button that used to be flat and flush ending up floppy and separating from the body of the bud. It is a sad fate for a product that looks so good when fresh from the box.So on 2 usability aspects the A1 could be seen as improved. The buttons are the same. What knocks them down in my eyes is that A1s don't tell me if they are low on battery they just die. I listen to lots of podcasts. I tend to do this with a single bud (which Anker products do super well at). My Dot 2s would tell me if they were low on battery and I'd have time to switch to the other, with no interruption. These simply die. That seems like a step backwards. So with the increase in price and the units losing the low battery feature I can't say I like these total as much as the Dot 2s. The noise cancellation is fine, but I probably would have liked a Dot 3 model with the improved wings and new charger but the old low batt warning perhaps with a $5 increase in price instead of $10. For $10 I want that battery warning and perhaps some work on the poorly aging button.I know my gripes are those of a long time user and noise cancellation probably moves more units than "Now with Better Aging Buttons!!!!" Given the stage to write up a review about this unit, that is what this is, my feelings about a "product improved" version of a set of buds that I already know well.Anker makes great stuff. I keep coming back because I am used to getting a high quality item as a good price. I think the A1 is still that and can recommend them. I think Anker has made such great products that they need to be careful with changes. I don't regret my purchase of the A1s, I just wish I didn't see one of my favorite Dot 2 features leave.

Great value.

I got this to replace one I lost (same model). This isn't my my main audiophile pair, but is the best for it's case use. Despite it's 'bulkiness', it's the only pair that solidly stays in the ear (of the at least dozen different form factors I have tried) while doing any activity not completely senditerary. I am more than willing to make sacrifices elsewhere for not having to adjust earbuds over and over while doing physical activity. The sound is mid, but good enough for the price point. My only knock on it is I wish the silicone pieces were fixed and not removable. They can get soft when hot and can slip around the earbuds, which is an annoyance.I still give it max rating as, despite it's faults, it is functionally rock solid.
