Outstanding customer support and satisfaction guarantee.
I ordered this Tazz 22752 K33 chipper shredder late last summer (2018), ready for autumn yard cleanup. After receipt, I noticed that the leaf/twig hopper had been damaged during shipping which made it difficult to slide (close and open) the hopper damper/door. I contacted customer support and they shipped me a replacement immediately after I provided a few photos of the damaged part. The side mulch discharge bag hangs, with the aid of several heavy fabric loops, on a horizontal metal rod. The rod height is just sufficient to ensure the bag hangs down to ground level, remains fully extended and does not collapse or restrict airflow during filling. However, when the bag fills up, the weight of the contents is not completely supported by the ground and there is some downward flexing of the support rod. The second time I used the chipper, my rod broke at a weak point (a predrilled hole in the rod) where the rod Is attached to the machine. Again, I contacted support and was immediately given a replacement rod.Last autumn, I used the chipper a total of 4 times for a total duration of about 12-14 hours. At that point, I noticed that my bag was beginning to show significant signs of wear. The double seams were coming apart and two of the stitched-in loops were fraying and detaching at the seams. As I prepared the machine for my yard work this autumn, I went online to order a new bag. However, I was unable to find a part number that included only the bag. So I contacted customer support to ask if I it was possible to buy only the side discharge bag, without the several extra discharge door components, which I didn’t need.I was extremely surprised when I received a reply stating they would ship me a new bag, free of charge. That was far beyond my expectations! Tazz customer support have been a pleasure to deal with. They always responded promptly to my enquiries and, where appropriate, made reasonable requests for additional information related to my issues. They have gone out of their way to ensure I am satisfied with my product purchase.Based on my personal experiences outlined above, I have made several adjustments to how I use the product:1) the discharge bag support rod can, during use, partially slide out of the narrow insertion tube. This can add extra downward flexing forces on the rod at the weakest point (where there is a predrilled hole in the rod - I am still not sure of the purpose of that hole). So during use I frequently check to make sure the rod is fully seated.2) the fabric hanger loops on the discharge bag offer a convenient “handle” when removing and emptying the bag contents. I highly recommend users grasp the bag at the upper corner at the zipper end of the bag and resist the temptation to hold the bag by the loops. This will minimize undue stress on the double seams of the bag and extend its useable life.

Good unit - but assembly and quality of parts is an issue.
I am giving this Tazz a 4 star review because of the quality of the product, most particularly the engine. However, there are things you need to know about assembly and the quality of some of the parts before ordering and then potentially assembling the chipper which lower this to a 4.As is usual with my Amazon experience, scheduled delivery was nearly perfect, The unit arrived undamaged as far as visible damage to the shipping package is concerned. The issues with this unit are all related to the assembly and quality of some of the parts. As the photos show, several of the parts were questionable in quality, newness and design. The instructions are useful up to a point. You then need to start taking what they give you and translate the instructions to the reality of what they have shipped.First, the engineering of the damper in the hopper must have been left to Roy the intern because it is not well designed at all. The damper is almost impossible to operate if you tighten all of the nuts on the assembly. This was further problematic because the hopper I received was badly bent (see pic) at a key point necessary for the damper to operate freely (which it never will on my unit). It also appears used. There is also a four bolt frame assembly which they call 'rear stud plate' and I call 'mystery object d' since the instructions really have this step poorly written. This took me almost an hour between trying to get the damper to operate at all and to figure out where the rear stud plate was supposed to fit in the assembly. Got it, but it doesn't work well.Second, the kick stand I received was clearly not new and had been used before. I guess it is possible that they assemble, then disassemble these units for shipping, but it seemed odd given the fact it was supposed to be new (see pic).Third, there was oil spilled on the unit and into the chipper because the oil fill plug was not firmly closed and leaked (see pic). I'm sure they test the engines and then drain the fluids for shipping, but apparently not enough if you leave the filler plug loose.Other assembly went well with one caution. When you attach the hopper guard and handle, be sure to block the hopper by closing the damper and also inserting something in there to catch any nuts, bolts or washers that you are installing. I dropped one washer into the hopper and I had to flip the entire machine upside down to get it out. My mistake and hopefully not yours now that you know. The engine, one of the reasons I ordered this one appears to be excellent. It started with less than one full pull and ran as expected during a very short initial test of the chipper with twigs, leaves and small branches. As hoped, nice mulch was collected in the debris bag.So, if the assembly is the only problems I encounter with this chipper, I will be more than happy with the purchase. But, if you aren't particularly handy, you may struggle with some aspects of the assembly and use four letter words last heard when the 6th fleet was in town.

Good Engine, Good Chipper Bad bag.
After owning this for nearly over a year, it has handled everything quite well, which has been mostly leaves and dead/dried/decaying Giant Ragweeds I've collected from around my yard. I've dome some branches here and there and a few other things that it has handled well. Engine still starts on the first pull as long as I follow the manual for starting it.Reading the Manual is important folks and don't forget the choke! I have a few times! My primary gripe is with the collection bag. The plastic ring you use to attach it to the chipper shredder some how broke on me and I don't know how, but I'm still able to make it work and attach it. The second problem... the very back, long strap for the bag to be supported on the support bar ripped off within just the first few months of use and there's a hole there. They need to work on sowing that strap better. The other straps, though, have to continued to hold on well. My only problem is I now have a hole in the top side of my bag around the size of a Dime. If the bag would have stayed in one piece longer, I would've given a full five stars. Otherwise, it has been a great chipper shredder for me, handling whatever I through into it like a beast. Also this has been mentioned by a previous reviewer, but it is not as noisy as a previous shredder I've used in the past.Keep in mind, if you EVER have problems starting this, check the power switch on it, check if the fuel is on, make sure you have the throttle where it should be as the manual tells you and make sure you have the choke where it needs to be which is either on full choke or half choke, sometimes depending on weather conditions~ One pull is all it takes for me when I have everything in the right place!

disappointed
i am a home contractor and i am pretty used to quality tools after 20 years being around them. i bought this for my own home use , and have to say am a little disappinted in the quality of what you would think would be one of the most important things, the knives and blades. they got so noticeably dull after the very first two hours of use, and when i took it apart to sharpen blades and rotate hammers myself i was blown away at how badly they had deteriorated. the metal was so folded over that it was apparent the metal is a low quality low carbon steel, and when put to my shaprener i laughed at how the edge isn't even straight, like a blind child freehanded the edge. after the first two hours i tell how i didn't even get to try a variety of materials but the only softwood green hemlock that was the only tree i cut down. it didn;t like cutting anything over 2 inches, so that stuff i just threw into a burn pile. maybe i got a bad set of knives, they somehow not receiving the correct temper, as the mulcher hammers degraded much slower, but in no way are you going to get six clean cutting edges by rotating the hammers like the manual says, as my hammers were worn on both sides of each triangle without even having had flipped them. obviously not the greatest design. on those anyway. if you have any great deal of work to do(chipping anyway), just rent a large unit. i am sure if the metal of these knives and hammer were better i would give a great review because when sharp it really does do a good job, but considering the two hours it took to open this beast up, sharpen and rotate everything and put together, after only two hours of work on softwood, i wouldn't spend that kind of money again. c'mon tazz, you can do better!

Tazz 22752 K33 Chipper Shredder with 301cc Viper Engine
took 2 weeks to get it but arrived on the day stated..Some assembly required alright but I love the ESN ( elastic stop nuts ) nuts won't vibrate loose. Supplied with some 10W-30 oil but not enought to fill the crankcase. manual suggests straight #10 oil and a phone call to tech support was a little hazy on what oil to use or why oil supplied was not the recomended one. After soem talk we decided to go with the 10w-30 supplied and added more of the same to fill it up. First oil chage i'll put 10w-30 synthetic sam eI as use in the John Deere. ( I also bought the tow hitch option you need it to tow the chipper )Engine starts very easily with the choke on ( gas and ignition ON ) on the first pull and flip the choke off.... I'm on the 4th tank of gas ( medium octane ) Runs about 4-5hours on a full tank. (Going to change the oil after this tank ) Chipper eats 2" spruce and softwood with no trouble however not so happy with hard wood. 1" and down seems OK but vibrates the wood. The collection bag is the reason for only 4 stars. The bag seems to cause a restriction in air flow and had to be removed every couple of minutes to unblock the output chamber. This required a shutdown and wait for complete stop to remove bag and poke the blockage out DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITH THE UNIT SPINNING. However running without the bag has been faultless and doesn't block up.So for our purpose... cleaning dead stuff from our 3 acre wooded lot this chipper has paid for itself already versus renting something comparable. And remember, you need a tow bar if you need to move arround your property... Have fun
