Secrets of the CFP Exam Study Guide: CFP® Test Review for the Certified Financial Planner Exam (Mometrix Secrets Study Guides) Pap/Psc Edition

This is a great synopsis of all the material for review prior to your exam if you invested in a full on review course like Kaplan (me), Brett Danko, etc in the past or say its been some time between education and review. It gives you all of the substantive material, but you NEED to invest in some test questions.

I wish there were practice questions with each section but over all this feels like the cliff note version of the highlights which is helpful. It’s basically what I would be writing down as notes to review later

Awesome book, I’ve learned so much with the short amount of time I’ve had it.

I like the concise chapters which focuses on the main parts of the test as well as the best way to prepare. There is endless amounts of information that can be used to prepare so it is nice to have a guide that has worked for so many people.

My copy has been supposedly "updated" for the year 2014, but absolutely all the information is out of date. Do not take into account any numbers used. Also, some of it is just flat out wrong. I initially wrote them an e-mail asking for an "errors" page on their website, which does not exist. I am in the financial industry and was well aware when I caught errors and just overlooked them. After the 900th one, I had to login and post a review. This is the line that did if for me: "There is no reason to create a GRIT with a term extending beyond 2009, since this is the point at which estate tax is repealed." As everyone knows, it was temporarily lifted in 2010, but put back on thereafter.Do not buy this book if you truly want to be informed. Some of it is relevant as it hasn't changed, however this book was clearly written four years ago and never updated. Falsely advertised as an updated version, but I can assure you it is not.Do not buy this book. Look for another exam prep. I have yet to get to their one practice exam, but it would be pointless to take as it will also be out of date.

I've just started my first chapter, and so far, the material is concise and useful.

So far I really enjoy how the exam information has been condensed into what is really important. This should be very beneficial after going through a massive amount of information in my CFP program. It also appears that there are some great practice questions at the end of the study guide.
