Heavy but breathable
This blanket is nice and heavy and the weight is distributed evenly. Not only is the blanket durable but the bag it comes in is as well. It’s not a hot blanket.

Amazing
So far so good!! I have such a hard time staying asleep throughout the night. Sometimes I even sleep sitting up and don't prefer sleeping medications due to feeling "hung over" the next day. I had done my research for over 1yr and was originally going to go with bearby than I found california design den for about $100 LESS. The difference I found was regular cotton vs orgnaic cotton which isn't a bother to me at all. I went with the 15lb which is 10% of my body weight. I saw that the dark gray and other colors were frequently returned due to smell because of the dye used. I wrny with the light gray and I couldn't be happier the blabket arrived QUICKLY the product is made in India and is 100% cotton. I've had some of the best sleep 😴 I've been able to have in along time I do get up to use the rest room but staying asleep using this has been a dream. I like that it's knitted so it's not overwhelming hot. I suggest recommend and would purchase again. I don't mind spending on quality products and this is just that! So comfortable and I love that it came in a bag that can be used for the beach, day trips, or overnight bag. I wasn't able to get the blanket in it again but nonetheless it was a nice touch ;) the blankey itself is heavy and so soft I like the pattern to it and it does come with clear cleaning instructions 😊 happy sleeping

This one was just right for me (Grey 12lb.)
First off - I believe this color has been noted from others to have a strong smell from the dye, but I didn't experience it being that bad. I aired it out for a day, and then hit it with some "Zero Oder" spray, and it's just fine.I originally got the larger (15lb 44x72 light gray) and found that, besides it being to heavy for my liking (This is my first weighted blanket and I'm Male, ~170lbs.), it smelled much more, even after airing out and spraying, so it was returned. This guy is JUST PERFECT for me. Besides being a bit lighter, it also seems less dense and more open/stretchy/net like if you play with it, so it's much better for "breathability", which is important for me since I run hot sleeping and want to use it year round. I'm currently using it over my bamboo top sheets and cotton waffle weave blanket and it's perfect. For winter I'll maybe just add another layer if needed.I can't speak to washing it since I think I'll probably get it dry cleaned since I don't want to over tax my washer with the wet weight of it, and I don't want to deal with tub washing. For me the 12lb. weight is very comforting, and cozy, without being smothering, and so far I've not had too much of a problem with it shifting/falling off the bed during my occasional tossing and turning evenings.I also just received some Percale pillow cases from CA. Design Den that I decided to try out, and they are great!

Nice and heavy (but also warm)
Pros:• Very heavy! (👍)• Nice quality• Good size for single (US: “full”) bed.Cons:• Pretty hot (for Californian summer)Neutral:• Comes with a reusable storage bag, which is nice. But I don’t expect many people will enjoy putting/pulling something so big and heavy in/out such a tight space. So it’s probably more of a gesture than anything else. Adds to the premium experience, though. Just not something to look forward to 🙂

Good Quality
I've been wanting to get a weighted blanket for a while, but always heard they were very hot and were not washable, only the duvet type covers were washable.I done some research and found out there are weighted blankets that are 100% Cotton and entirely washable. I was looking at getting a Bearby weighted blanket but they are very expensive and I didn't want to pay that kind of money if I wasn't sure I would love it. That's when I found this California Design Den weighted blanket and decided to give it a try. It's 100% Cotton, completely washable, and much cheaper than Bearby.I've had the California Design Den blanket for a month and I love it! It washed well & like others, I had to do 3 drying cycles. I put it on the bed between the flat sheet and lightweight quilt. I have been telling everyone about how well made this product is ama how much better my sleep has been since I got it.

Love it.
Bought this for my teenage son (I wanted it for myself but he took it). We have a much older weighted blanket that is filled with glass beads. Terrible. We don’t use it ever because the beads “leak” out and the bed gets sandy. This blanket doesn’t have that problem. Also the issue with my old blanket was that the weight would shift as the beads moved around. Again not a problem here. This is a great weighted blanket, very soft and comfortable. I tried to buy a second one but they were out of stock at the time. Also it comes with a little canvas bag, so that’s a nice bonus.

Love this blanket!
Never write reviews but this blanket has made my life better. I want to say thank you and share my thoughts. A good night’s sleep carries over into the day. Bought the blue twin size four months ago after seeing a similar blanket on a tv show. No glass beads or synthetic fibers an open weave just makes sense! Looks great and it’s so easy to make the bed in the morning! Softened up nicely after running it through the washing machine. I stopped using a top sheet and the cotton weave is skin-friendly. The blanket stays put even when I move around in my sleep. I also appreciate that the organic cotton is environmentally friendly and labor force fairly compensated.

FAB, once the smell is gone
This smelled like burning plastic so hard that it took 2 washes to remove the scent. My air filter kicked into high gear once I had this in the same room as it so that might mean that the gasses this gives off probably shouldn't be inhaled. . . In any case, it will shrink in the dryer but that is the only way to get it to dry in less than 3 days outside, in the sun. The weight is evenly distributed and because it is a large open knit, it won't make you overheat and sweat. If it weren't for the incredibly horrible smell and the shrinkage, this would be 5 stars
