Sturdy and Perfectly Sized Fermentation Weights for Consistent Results
The Elementi Fermentation Weight Set is designed to simplify the fermentation process by keeping ingredients submerged during pickling or fermenting. Made from durable glass, these weights are tailored for wide-mouth mason jars, making them ideal for small-batch fermentation projects like sauerkraut, pickles, or kimchi. I used these weights over a few weeks with a variety of recipes to evaluate their performance and ease of use.Pros:✅ Perfect Fit: Designed to fit snugly in wide-mouth mason jars, ensuring even coverage and keeping contents submerged.✅ Durable Glass: Thick, sturdy glass construction that resists chipping and cracking.✅ Easy to Use: Simple to place and remove with a slight lip for better grip.✅ Non-Porous Surface: Glass doesn’t absorb odors, stains, or flavors, maintaining the purity of your ferments.✅ Low Maintenance: Easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher.Cons:❌ Limited Compatibility: Specifically designed for wide-mouth jars; not suitable for other jar sizes.❌ Heavy for Some Users: The weight may be challenging to handle for those with reduced hand strength, though this ensures effective submersion.Performance and Usability:The Elementi Fermentation Weights performed exceptionally well in keeping produce submerged, preventing spoilage from air exposure. Their heavy construction ensured that even larger or float-prone items stayed below the brine line. The smooth glass surface made cleanup quick and easy, and the slight lip provided sufficient grip for removal without breaking the jar’s brine seal.Comparison:Compared to ceramic or plastic weights, these glass weights are superior in durability, non-reactivity, and ease of cleaning. While some ceramic weights feature handles for easier removal, the sleek glass design of the Elementi weights ensures versatility and longevity.Who Is This For?:This product is ideal for fermentation enthusiasts who frequently use wide-mouth mason jars for small-batch projects. It’s especially suitable for those who value non-reactive materials and long-lasting quality. Conclusion:The Elementi Fermentation Weight Set of 4 is a practical and durable choice for anyone serious about fermentation. With their precise fit, ease of use, and robust glass construction, these weights make the fermentation process more consistent and hassle-free. While limited to wide-mouth jars, they excel in performance and design for their intended use.

Work Great!
I bought these to ferment some homemade hotsauce, They are very nice, heavy glass weights with a tab to pull the weight out when you're done.

Okay
This work will and the size is just right for wide mouth Mason jars. The problem is that they are difficult to grab and remove from the jar. It needs a little handle- I usually have to fish it out with a spoon.

Easy to lift
Weights are important for keeping fermenting and fermented foods submerged. I prefer glass weights. They don't affect the food's flavor or life expectancy, and are heavy compared with how much room they require. I have had no problem with these breaking, chipping, or cracking. These are great in the jars of ferments that we're currently enjoying. The weight easily lifts straight up.When I won't be using a jar ferment for a while, I prefer the weights that are the same dimensions as these but flat on both sides, for their higher weight.Note: Elementi's set of 6 weights are apparently made to different specs. I liked this set of 4 so much, I ordered a set of 6. The "handles" were only 2/8" high, not 3/8" high like the set of 4. The shorter handles are too slippery to grip with my fingertips.I reported this to hello at elementi dot co. Janice sent a second set and then responded, "It's possible that the handles on the 6-pack differ from those on the 4-pack, as you mentioned experiencing consistency in the handles across the two sets of six...we greatly appreciate your feedback as it will help us in improving our products...As our products are fulfilled by Amazon, our ability to manage inventory and process exchanges directly is limited. Additionally, since the return window has passed, we are unable to initiate a return or exchange through Amazon."

Perfect size for fermenting in wide mouth jars or pickle jars
I bought these weights to make sauerkraut and fermented veggies in jars. Very easy to use and clean up perfectly in soap and water, or in dishwasher. Fits into wide mouth canning jars with ease. And handle on top makes it easy to remove the weight or adjust it. Also perfect with other jars like re-purposed large pickle jars. Sometimes I use two weights if the jar is large. They do the job! Nice weight to them! Good price. quality glass.

Almost impossible to pickup, let alone retrieve from the jar.
I usually read the reviews pretty well, this time I missed big time! These are almost impossible to pick up by the 'handle' even when out of the jar. There is NO lip, they must have glued them to the persons hand in the picture. They are nice and will do the job, but removing from the job will be hard. Even tried with a silicon finger tip grips and was hard.I guess will have to get my dremel and diamond bit out and make a few grooves, then polish them up. Probably should have gotten the kind with the hole in the middle.Update: After actual use, was able to get them out of the jar, but it isn't as easy as suggest in the literature. You have to put all you fingers on one side of "handle" and spread them out so the two outside fingers are close to ends. Then with thumb on the other side near the middle, it will come out. But lift carefully! I got one wedged and thought wasn't going to get out. They would be lot better if added a depression, even a small one, on both sides of the 'handle'. Or even a little bit of a lip on the top part of the 'handle' on both sides.
