Mahalo Hano Series MH2 Concert Ukulele Transparent Blue

I cannot speak highly enough about this little concert Ukulele! I bought the transparent blue, and the gloss finish really makes the blue stand out. It is SO GORGEOUS in person! I also LOVE the way it plays. I'm a beginner, but I think it gives off a great sound. I purchased a Kala KA-CEMB at the same time as I bought this one, and although the blue on the Kala is pretty, it doesn't look nearly as good in person as it does in pictures. The Kala's satin finish causes the blue to be very diminished and kind of dull looking. The Kala seems to be constructed a bit better than this Mahalo, due to differences in materials, BUT it doesn't seem to sound as good as the Mahalo does. Maybe it's just because it's a different kind of wood, I don't know, but to my untrained ears I greatly prefer the sound of the Mahalo over the sound of the Kala. And in the good looks department, the transparent blue Mahalo far exceeds the Kala. I think I'm going to sell the Kala. I'm super happy with my blue Mahalo, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this gorgeous little instrument! <3

This was my first Ukulele. I got to see if I would like to learn to play or if I ACTUALLY could learn to play. This has not dissapointed me at all. I LOVE IT! I have only been playing for about 4 months at the time of this review but have learned so much. It did take a few days of playing to streach the strings so they would stay in tune but BOY once they settle in you hardly have to retune them. This concert Uke is by far my favorite and I have since gotten a Soprano and a Tenor of different brands and I can say this holds its own compared to the higher priced ones I have.You will not go wrong with this Ukulele!My others are Enya Concert and Halo! Soprano and Halo! Tenor and a Flight Eliese Ecklund signature concert.Once you fall in LOVE with this Ukulele one is never enough.
