Beautiful moc just wish there was a scale model for a Battlestar.

Overall, this was a fun build and I like how the Viper looks alongside my X-Wing. The instructions were easy to download but difficult to follow in a few areas. I recommend viewing the instructions on a tablet or laptop as it allows you to zoom in as needed. The bricks are bagged and not in any particular order for building the kit. I layed out all the bricks by type to easily find the parts needed for each step. It’s also helpful to have spare bricks as I was missing a couple pieces. This resulted in minor color differences visible on the wings but I like the look. This kit is best suited for intermediate to experienced builders since the instructions can be difficult and I had to modify a couple areas to fit the pieces properly. Also, the kit will seem flimsy at times during construction and pieces could break off if too much pressure is applied. However, the overall sturdiness gets better as construction steps are completed. The finished build and appearance are very good with the exception of the front landing gear which can easily collapse. I plan to modify the Viper to fit onto a stand for display as opposed to standing on the landing gears. My total build time was about 4 hours.*Update: I added a stand and figure to enhance the overall appearance.

The only thing I didn't like was that it could have been a more solid construction

Had many problems with this build. Missing pieces was the least of the things wrong with my build. The bricks themselves are not of good quality. One brick even broke when I was assembling it. The bricks do not fit very well with each other. It is either a very loose fit, or a tight fit and hard to attach. Even when fully assembled you can see gaps when the bricks are suppose to be flush. It does not look good. The canopy does not fit well (it will not close all the way) due to the missed aligned bricks. It is very unstable. If you pick it up, expect pieces to fall off. Instructions are confusing. Some steps show to attach two bricks to the same peg. My advice, save your money and do not get this product. Not worth the money by far.

This model was an easy to medium build. The price fit well into my budget and what I received. I would repeat the process for a similar build.

First of all. if you are a die-hard Lego fan do not buy this item. However, if you can look past that, this is a cool build. Lego sends their sets in numbered bags, and you open one at a time to build in order. Not so with this set. You open all twelve bags that are in no particular order and sort. Also they do not include paper instructions, you download with a QR code. I suggest on a larger tablet so you can zoom in, and each new step is highlighted pink so you know where to add it. Otherwise its cool. In my tablet screenshot there was one issue. If you look at step 28 then 29, the 6 peg brick on the front left has nothing to attach to. It later attaches to something from above, but this is an error they need to fix. In the next screen shot it shows that they used to have a minifig, but now they don't. It a computer program, very simple to just delete that photo and step. Possibly it is to show they don't include one but you can put in your own. Another screen shot shows they had to substitute pieces, again just fix the photo to make it right, it's not like they have to re-print everything. Next photo was just something I downloaded and made a custom plaque sticker and made my own signage, which they do not include. Last three photos are the finished product next to a 20oz water bottle to show actual size. I enjoyed this item and it highlights my collection. The few things that I listed is why I only rated 4 stars instead of 5.

This was a near perfect kit! No missing pieces ( in fact, a few extra ones even )No issues with construction or with downloading the online instructions.Can’t wait to build a classic Cylon Raider next!

First off, the design is very clean and evocative of Battlestar Galactica. That's why I bought it.The instructions were slightly confusing but not horribly so. Main issues were understanding that the bright pink sections in the drawings highlighted where the current parts were going, some hard-to-differentiate part colorings to indicate light grey vs dark grey vs black. There were also a few visual indicators as to what not to do.There were a few miscolored parts and one or two missing parts, but nothing I couldn't replace out of my standard supplies. Thankfully these were full-size parts as opposed to another chinese lego kit I'd bought where the parts were about 60% full size.My main criticism on the kit comes from the manufacturing. The patent on Lego has recently expired, which has spawned a large number of secondary manufacturers, such as who made this kit. As a result, you have Lego-shaped parts that look like Lego, fit together like Lego, but don't have Lego manufacturing tolerances that make Lego pieces "stick" together better. This means that the finished model falls apart very easily... might be as you're trying to snap the final wing into place, might be if/when a child tries to play with the kit.As a result, if you're planning on this being handled with anything rougher than _great_ care, you should add a dab of superglue to the nonmoving parts to secure everything together. Not a bad thing because you wouldn't want to mix these parts with the genuine article.
