Love that it can be together or separate. Perfect size for my small hands. The blade does not collapse. I don't mind that but if you want one that does then you need a different blade. Going to use these for my sith assassin

Definitely not suited for a light saber battle. That being said I have no real complaints about the sabers but make sure you are managing your expectations on this one. If you are simply wanting an accessory to a costume these are great but if you have an active kid or are a kid at heart that will likely want to have a light saber battle with them, these are not gonna be for you. I mean who wouldn't want to have fun pretending to be a Jedi and Sith going at it, isn't that half the point in buying a light saber? We tried to be careful and not hit the sabers too hard against each other and they still broke extremely quick.

Son, husband, and daughter enjoy fighting with these swords. The sounds are good, not unrealistic! The fact they can attach at the ends is really cool. My son chose this to buy with a gift card his grandfather gave him. So far, they have been fun for the family. My son has the actual licensed Star Wars Darksaber, and the sounds these swords make are comparable to it, so that was surprising! I don't know how long they'll hold up, but I would still recommend them!
