OraVet Dental Hygiene Chews combat bacterial attachment, the starting point of plaque, calculus and halitosis. Each chew releases delmopinol HIC, an ingredient that coats the teeth, tongue and gingiva to create a protective barrier against the bacteria that cause bad breath and are the basis for plaque. OraVet Dental Hygiene Chews also break down existing plaque and then effectively remove plaque and calculus through mechanical action. OraVet Dental Hygiene Chew should be given as directed by your veterinarian as part of your dog's complete preventive oral health care regimen. Always monitor your dog until the chew is fully consumed. Chews are intended for dogs six months of age and older. OraVet contains ingredients that include Chloraphyl, parsley flakes and alfalfa that may cause changes to you dogs stools.

I am soooo amazed by these would recommend 110%
I am soooo amazed by these would recommend 110%!!! If u have a dog who has bad teeth and stinky breath problems this works 110%!!! This is like a tooth brush in a treat. My dogs love it! They growl if one gets to close to their treat. Each treat releases delmopinol ingredient that coats the teeth, tongue and gingiva to create a protective barrier against bacteria. I have gotten my dogs teeth cleaned by professional only to returning of bad teeth and stinky breath all over again. Making it a big let down!!! This dog here my Tammy princess and my other 2 won't let me brush their teeth, I have tried. It breaks my heart to feel helpless! I have bought so many dental care treats but it has never helped cleaned their teeth or clear up bad breath. I would then stop buying those products. My dogs have already eaten 6 of these 3 day gap of each treat which ur suppose to give 1 daily but having 3 dogs this 3 day gap works personally for me esp since this product isn't cheap. Let me tell you how happy of a momma that I am. From the 1st treat I notice the bad breath fading away after 6 of these treats I'm noticing plaque being removed and whitening my dogs teeth. I was hesitant to buy these at first so I got a small 14 piece box didn't know if they would truly work but sure enough I didn't hesitate this time and bought the bigger box of 30. I will continue to buy these and this is Vet recommend. Now I enjoy my babies kisses.

an excellent product, it works and is very handy to have to increase dental hygiene
hello, our vet told us of this dental hygiene way of improving our dog's oddball breath. first, it was eliminating actual meat by products. that made a whole world of difference by that one change. but, as nature goes, the somewhat doggy breath sometimes appears. so, it is brushing once a day, and as a treat, using these oravet chews. our dog is small and the worry is that he will chomp down this small size treat and possibly get choked. so, these larger size chews are easier to bite down and eat at a slower pace and with small bits.we still have the fear of choking as dogs tend to go berserk when eating something they like. besides being so possessive of their snacks, we hold on to the stick and let him bite off what he wants, then watch him chew the piece. no choking, an even flow of food going down, and a regulated amount each time the reward is given. ever watch a small dog chew and chew? it is funny and fun...so far, with the daily brushing and chews, the doggy breath is virtually gone. dental hygiene at its best, preventive treatment in the comfort of your own home.

They work, period. 4.5/5 because they are expensive
They work, period. My stupid rat-dog critter (half Manchester Terrier, half Chihuahua) has had rotten teeth and foul breath his whole life, as do all of his siblings. I've paid probably close to a thousand dollars to have teeth pulled every year when he goes to the Vet. We started him on the 10-24 pound chews (cut in half to save money; hes about 9 pounds) and immediately his breath is much better. He likes to lick faces, so this is a big plus. His teeth are also looking a ton better, and 3 months out he seems to be in much less pain as well. Our critter is super picky with treats, chews, and raw hides, and he was a little skeptical at first. He ate them, but it took a while. Now he waits every morning for them and eats them in about 5 minutes. The only downside is that these are freaking expensive, but so is dog tooth cleaning and teeth pulling when your untreated dog goes to the vet.I realize my experience is hardly a scientific study with peer review, but I'm convinced enough that we are keeping our critter on them with no plans to stop.

Absolutely amazing!
My vet recommended these for my 6 year old shorkie after he needed a professional cleaning to remove tartar on his molars. I’ve been using these daily for almost three months for my three small senior dogs and LOVE them! My shorkie still has very clean teeth and I feel better about protecting my other two dogs as well. I know other reviewers complain about the green poop but honestly, my dogs still have healthy stool and a little greeness is a small price to pay for healthy teeth. Although it can be a bit pricey to go through three boxes a month, it’s well worth it compared to the cost of dental cleanings/tooth extractions from the vet.One important note is that in each box there is a rebate for $25 with the purchase of 3 boxes. This was awesome at first but the fine print says it only applies when purchased from a vet. Definitely check with your vet and see what they would charge you for this product if you’re interested in the rebate.

Great job on teeth. Give them a little something else to eat before the chew, though.
I have two shorkie-tzus (shih-tzu/yorkies). My little girl has the typical horrible-to-keep-clean tiny shih-tzu teeth. We got OraVet gel from our vet to keep her teeth healthy, but she just would not allow us to apply it. When I found these, I asked my vet if I could use them instead. She said we could try, but they probably wouldn't be as effective as the gel being applied directly to the teeth. I give her an Oravet Chew once every 3 days. Our last vet visit proved to us all that it WORKS!!! I am so relieved. Make sure to not give them on an empty stomach, though. My girl sometimes gets an upset stomach if I do. My boy dog has no problems with them ever.LATEST UPDATE:Went to the vet for their annual dental cleaning. My vet said whatever we were doing to keep it up, because their teeth are in excellent condition. I'm so glad I found these!

Vet recommended
I have a small dog and small dogs have small mouths and bad teeth. Mine is down to half of her original set and that’s despite water additives and greenies galore. She won’t let me brush her teeth and never has and now at age 11, it’s a fight to even try. After the last tooth extraction my vet sold me a box like this ones (just in smaller and expensive).I swear by it. She hasn’t had any problems since.Unlike other teeth cleaning products this takes her a while to eat and it seems to foam and coat her teeth while she does it.It also helps with the pooping. Not as in diarrhoea (which she will get at the drop of a hat), but in it being slightly softer so this old lady doesn’t have to push quite so hard.I wish I had found this years ago. She may have retained a lot more teeth.
