I read the first two books from this series when I was younger, falling in love with the idea of "fairytales with a twist". So I started following the author and that's where I heard of this book. I was excited to read this book because I remembered loving the series so fondly as a child, but after reading it I found thhe plot to be a little bit rushed. The beggining was very good and detailed but as the story progressed the plot became more rushed and the details started to disapear. Also what i noticed is how the encounter between Beauty and the Beast was such a small part of the book (They only know each other for the last 1/4 of the story). Also some questions were left unanswered which always ticks me off because when I finish a book that is not part of a series, I don't want any questions about WHY a certain person did that or thought that. However what I did enjoy was bringing in more main characters from the original fairytale so if you didn't enjoy the protaginists, you had someone to look forward to reading about.All in all i thought this book was very good for someone who is at a novice reading stage (aged 8-13) and if the author were to publish another one (which i doubt based on the dedication) i would most likely read it.

When I first read this book, I fell instantly in love with the story. I read it about four times now, and I still think it is the best. Only of you like fantasy-reality books, of course. The story takes place in medival times, following two totally different charactors; Beauty and Riley (Beast). The whole storyline is like that of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, but with other charactors and more sinister plots involved. If you don't understand what I mean, find out for your self in Wendy Mass' Twice Upon a Time # 3 : Beauty and the Beast.

This is the best version of beauty and the beast ever! I would recommend this book to anyone! Soooooooooooo good!

This is not like any retelling of Beauty and the Beast I've ever read and I have read a lot of them. Beauty is twelve. The beast is thirteen. There two quests, a tale within a tale and a number of delightful characters, including one called Handsome. I enjoy everything Wendy Maas writes.. this was no exception.

This book was the best ever! Every sentence kept making me want to read more and more until I finished the whole book! I loved all the suspense in the book and could almost never put it down. This book was interesting and a great fantasy. I even like this book best than the beauty and the beast Disney movie. I recommend this book to fantasy lovers and just people who want it find a good book. This is definitely my new favorite Wendy mass book!

I honestly don't know why I am even remotely surprised that this book is awesome!!! Wendy Mass has been my favorite author for years and my favorite book series is the Willow Falls books. I also looovvveeeee the Twice Upon A Time books because they are so good! You will love all the books by Wendy Mass and you should totally buy this book. You won't regret it!!:D

3/4 of the book is beauty and beasts life BEFORE they meet. Beauty's part is unnecessary to me, but I LOVE beasts life!!! It is humorous, and AMAZING!!! I also love how Mass's books always connect somehow. Beauty's part is also confusing, but then again, it was midnight when I read this book :)

I liked that Beauty's name didn't really fit her in the beginning but at the end it did. I also thought that it was cool that Veronica believed in other fairy tales especially because she said the other fairy tales she believed in were other stories in the series. I hope that there will be more books in the series and have the last one have all the characters meet each other and go on some kind of adventure.

Great book. Very funny. 10 year old loved it.
