Firstly sent me wrong meter with US reading Not uk mmols as required. A novice to blood glucose was unaware and had to pay to send wrong one back. Meter is good and cheap to run but you cant put strip in more than a second or two before blood drop. Hard as you dont have enough pairs of hands at the start, and once strip is rejected, it is wasted

Wore this to check my glucose and insulin interactions for a week. It was accurate and easy to use. The app was excellent.

I bought this without looking at the units it reports blood sugar in, my mistake. And I didn’t discover this until after I had opened it. This is no use at all for the UK market as all doctors in the UK use mmol/l and NOT mg/dl. In my opinion this shouldn’t be sold on Amazon uk site; when I read the reviews I saw a lot of other customers had made the same mistake and wasted their money.

Happy with this purchase. Was a bit disappointed that it's calibration is in mg/dl instead of mmols but it's my mistake as it stated this in the information.Thank you

A god monitor with low cost strips which is what I need as doc will not give me them on prescription

Perhaps one of the most economic devices on the market, but I found it difficult to program and in fact work the device without the program that supposedly allows you to make all sorts of weird and wonderful statistical tables which you can even upload to your computer, so the guide says. I could not fathom it out.Since I only needed the device to carry out sporadic monitoring, perhaps once a month or so, more from a precautionary point of view than out of medical necessity, I'm not particularly bothered by this shortcoming.If I had to rely on continuous data input, however, the story would be different.Also, while the device is reasonably priced, the test strips would be fairly expensive if you had to test several times a day.But again, I suppose that will be the case for more or less all these bloodsugar testing apparatus.I also found that it's important to make sure that the test strips are handled properly as I've had a couple of "false" readings due to the fact that I had touched the strip incorrecty and it malfunctioned when inserted into the machine.I think there is easier to handle equipment about - much will depend on the price though.For it's price I would have to say you get value for money.
