Had this for about 6 months now and still works great! Our one also says 'Closer Pets' not 'Cat Mate' on the actual product which we like as we use it for dogs.We put this on the door to the garden Summer House so our Yorkshire Terrier and Mini Dachshund can go in and out freely. Works as intended.Took a few days of encouragement for the yorkie but now both use it multiple times a day every day. It seems to be just the right height for both to use without straining up/down and both have been known to sprint out if they hear something of interest outside. So, I would say it's hardy enough for our uses.Only complaint really is that the draft excluding part of the flap did freeze up when it was wet and frosty outside and I had to give it a hard push to break the ice and clean.For me, this is not so much an issue as our dogs are not outside at night but I can imagine for outdoor cats this might be an issue. So, if you are prone to cold climates and want to rely on this flap to let your cat inside during the night I would suggest keeping up with keeping it as dry and clean as possible before bed to give it the best chance of being able to swing throughout the night.It also comes with a template made of card so you know how big of a hole to cut which was also very handy.It's tinted on the outside so you can't see in but you can see out which our dogs like so they can stalk the birds outside without getting cold in the winter haha.For needs similar to mine, I would reccomend.

I originally bought an alternative cat flap based on my boys sizes and weights, but having fitted it, it soon became obvious that it was far too small.I don't think my boys are excessively large, they are Siamese cross and weigh 6-6.5kg. I genuinely did not believe they would need a large cat flap - but I was wrong.This cat flap is excellent quality and fits beautifully in our wooden kitchen door. Absolutely no draught gets through, but it is still easy enough for the boys to push.The locking mechanism could perhaps be simpler, but once you suss out how it works, it's no big deal. It's a very solid, quality item.My boys are 3 years old and had never used a cat flap before, with the exception of the previous purchase that was too small. Having struggled with that one, I wondered if it would put them off trying with this one, but the initial hesitance lasted no more than a few hours before they realised they could get through this one so much easier.I admit, the original cat flap was cheaper, but you can't put a price on your cats happiness, and it's not as if this was overpriced, it is worth every penny.Definitely recommended.

Purchased this cat flap having as we had moved and needed to fit a flap in our new house. Having previously had a cat mate flap which had served us well we decided to go for another one. This time we needed a flap to fit in the utility room window as our doors are extremely thick hard wood. Its a nice sturdy product, it was easy to fit and the template was of a good design which made it easy to cut out and fit a wooden surround into the window cavity as we has to remove a small pane of glass to put the cat flap in. We have had this product for two months now and so far it has served us well. The door in the flap is a good fit and the brushes and magnetic seal stop it from coming open in the wind and also stop any wet coming in when it is raining. We live quite high up in a direct line from the sea with just open country side between the window the flap is fitted in and the sea. This means we get the full force of the weather here with driving rain and high winds, previously owned catflaps have rattled, leaked and blown open in houses we have lived in which were more sheltered than this one.The only reason i have only given this product four stars is that the sliders to lock / unlock the flap are very stiff and hard to use, if you were elderly, weak or arthritic you might find it impossible to lock/ unlock. Having said that it does mean that the cat once shut in cannot knock the slider across and let itself back out.The flap door itself is tinted glass which means that it doesn't show up the dirt spashes so much, it also looks quite small but appearances can be deceiving. Our very large tom cat goes in and out of it easily and unfortunatly still has enough room to drag rats through it, quite how he manages to get them four foot up to the window without dropping them is a mystery.

We recently installed the Cat Mate Cat Flap, and it’s been fantastic! The installation process was incredibly straightforward, taking just a few minutes. Our cat took to it immediately, and we haven’t had any issues with her using it.To add a bit of humor to the situation, our dog Chelsea decided to try it out, too! As you can see from the photo, she managed to stick her head through the flap with no trouble at all. While it wasn’t designed for dogs, it’s clear that the flap is sturdy and functional.Overall, I’m very pleased with this cat flap. It’s durable, easy to install, and our cat is happy with it. Highly recommended!

Very sturdy easy to fit

Great value for money. Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Fast delivery, easy to install and comes with a handy template for cutting the hole.Would definitely recommend

absolutely useless stencil as useful as a chocolate fire guard.once its installed its fine but i opted to use some small wall plugs.if your using this for a standard door or a core door for a living room i recomend getting some form of small wall plugs just so its solid as theres nothing to hold on.if your door is hollow you will need wall plugs.
