Powdered charcoal
I used this with charcoal pencils on tanned stathmore paper but perhaps I'd have noticed better effect on white. That said it spreads nicely without bits and smoothly which helps in large areas to not leave scratchy lines.

Great but only when mixed with water
I use this for mixing with water and creating shading effects. Without the water, this charcoal is not as good as other charcoals as it does not bind well to the paper....it just keeps moving around.....My charcoal pencils are much better for creating different values on the paper. But mixed with water this charcoal gives really intense blacks and gives a range of values and also gives really cool effects that you could not get otherwise. For value for money, it will last a very long time and is much cheaper than other companies that sell smaller amounts.

Smooth gradients
I’ve been using charcoal and carbon pencils on and off for 6/7 years or so and always meant to try some of this out. I’ve been pleasantly surprised on how much easier it’s made smooth gradients when used with a soft watercolour brush. I’m working on a piece at the moment that’s on a very ‘toothy’ type of paper and was struggling to get a large, smooth gradient using a tortillion and brush so I bought this in hopes that it would help. Wish I would have bought some years ago now! A little goes a long way and a tub this size will last me years. Well worth the money.

Good product.
Haven't used it much yet but it is a useful product. Be warned it's messy.

Very good
Wonderful value for money although it doesn't list on it anywhere what grade it is although other charcoal powders do list this either on the advertisement or on the packaging

Lovely quality
Love this powder it’s smooth , easy to build layers and will last a very long time . If your new to using graphite powder go slowly and build up colour rather than use a lot in one go .

Excelente producto.
