Great thing to have
Great usb c female plug for diy projects.

Nice breakout USB C port
All I'm using it for are the V and G, which is why I can't give it 5 stars. I just don't know enough to make use of the other data terminals, nor do I have a project lined up that I want to use them for. But the low profile is fantastic, I am using a few to fix up some old 3DS consoles and give them USB C charging

Not spec compliant, won't work with C-to-C cable
These little boards don't meet the USB specifications, and as a result can't be used with a cable that's USB on both ends. As part of USB C, the port needs to communicate how much voltage it wants. It can do this with a pull-down resistor on each of the CC (configuration channel) pins. Now, if you're eagle-eyed, you might notice a spot where you can solder on a resistor that pulls down the CC pins. Great, right? Well, no. USB C requires a separate resistor for each of the two CC pins. That's two resistors for two CC pins. This board connects both CC pins to the same resistor. So, even if you put forth the effort to solder on the resistor, the board still won't provide power.It will work with an A-to-C cable, since USB A chargers can only provide one voltage. That is going to severely limit what these will word with, and it's only going to get worse as USB chargers and ports get more and more common.

not usb compliant
issues:the pull-down resistor is missing and the CC1 and CC2 ports are connected together.This means that the port wont work out-of-the-box because it is missing that resistor.However, because the CC1 and CC2 pins are shorted adding the resistor wont fix this either.I even tried unsoldering both the CC1 and CC2 pins, but they were still shorted so must be shorted internally.This will work for A to C but not C to C.dont bother buying these, get one that's made correctly.

Missing resistor
The images don't match the item they send you, the ones in the image are working breakout boards with the resistors populated correctly but the ones they send are missing the resistor across C1 for the voltage handshake
