I added this to a couple of the basic screw-on window locks to give me some extra security in my first-floor apartment. I actually tested this to see if I could jimmy it. I can't--and I'm pretty strong--so I figure it works as a deterrent. It's pretty quiet, very intuitive to use, and was easy to adjust to the right height. I wish I'd bought the pink, in hindsight, because I use it every time I'm home alone. It definitely gets the job done and I think it was worth the money for my sense of safety. I also like that this will telescope down to fit when I pack, or can get longer if I'm in an apartment with a higher nob. Overall, super happy and have already recommended it to several friends.I also like how easy this is to remove and store if I need to let someone else in or myself out.

This product is super easy to set up, it’s very sturdy, and it’s provided me with a lot of comfort. I love how you can adjust the length to fit the knob of your door. There’s also a rounded piece that you can use to swap when blocking a window or a sliding door. I hope that makes sense, but it definitely is a game changer, especially for those that live on the first floor of an apartment.

Certainly feels strong enough to keep a door closed. I bought for a trip where I’ll be staying in a hotel alone, and while I know they have good locks (at least the last one did) this will give me a feeling of extra security. It is heavier that I’d expected but that just makes me feel safer. So easy to use too. Glad I bought it.

What a great product! Other security bars that I purchased in the past were not as thick and weighed as this one. It has a solid feel to it which gives you a true sense of security. I use it on my basement door at night and I just feel more protected. I have hardwood floors and it does not slip. Great buy!

Make sure you measure your sliding glass door before you buy! Fits for my front door and seems really sturdy. I tried pulling really hard from the inside and I couldn't move it. I mainly got it for my front door, but since this comes with two, I tried to adjust the other one for my sliding glass door. I'm on a second floor so someone would have to be really determined to get to my patio (bringing a ladder to get onto the patio would be necessary). Unfortunately, this wasn't long enough to secure the door. I live in a basic old rental, so the door should be "standard" but it doesn't work no matter how I try to angle it. There just isn't enough length. I also tried using it shoved under the sliding glass door handle to see if it would work as an alternative way, but it doesn't. When I tested it by trying to pull the door open, it still opened enough to where someone could reach in and move the bar. And, it threw my sliding door off the track, which isn't very secure either! I'm bummed because I don't have a use for the second one now.

I love this product so much, I use it everyday. Makes me feel much safer, even tested it with a friend. Very hard to get through if you are pushing the other side of the door.
