Very visible!
This is just what we wanted! Although we don't let out dog off in the dark, this is great for when walking at night as cars can see our dog on the path. It makes us feel a bit more secure that he can be seen.It lights up really well and holds the charge for quite a while. It's not one where you have to charge it every day like others! The different lighting options is also a good addition.

Great quality light and does the job, but the size adjustment range seems to be much less than quoted.
This is a very good quality collar, sturdily made and worth the money - as long as it stands the test of time. The light is bright enough for what I wanted (black labrador in pitch darkness in open fields), but isn't quite as bright as the single-LED cycling-type lights that I have been using until now. My dog has lost two of the cycling/hanging type lights and this new one in the style of a complete collar seems to be the answer. However I do have to take issue over the sizing. My dog has a neck circumference of 45cm (measured as a reasonably tight fit using a dressmaker's tape), and this Medium collar claimed to have a size range of 40-50cm, so I thought he'd be smack bang in the middle of the range. But in fact the collar only has an adjustment range of 47.5 to 50.5cm, assuming that you achieve the minimum size by adjusting the sliding part of the clasp down to the furthest point you can on the black fabric part of the collar. This minimum size of 47.5cm was still too big for the dog, so it almost went into the Amazon returns process before first use. However, I found that I could adjust the collar to be even smaller if I moved the clasp onto the lighted part of the collar. If the lighting is achieved by the use of many LEDs with associated wiring, I would have not done this for fear of crushing the circuitry. However, I suspect (and hope!) that there is only one light source - at the other end from the adjustable clasp - and that the rest of the lighted portion is actually some sort of passive light-pipe. I had to move the sliding part of the clasp so that its body was sitting 100% on the light-pipe in order to achieve the 45cm size needed. I guess you could move it even further and possibly achieve a 40cm size if needed, but it doesn't look right when the lighted strip is inside the adjuster mechanism.Only one night walk so far and it's worked brilliantly. At this price I'm expecting to get several years' wear out of it but only time will tell.

A Good Collar - Great Visibility and Quality With Few Bad Points
I enjoy walking my dog on the beach at night/early morning just before dawn and for me its the best time of the night/day as no one else is around. The only trouble is that it is hard to keep track of where your dog is, in the often pitch black darkness, as the little bugger tends to follow his nose without regard to how far away he is from me, and one minute he is nearby and the next he has gone over to the other side where it is difficult for me to see him. I needed a good strong and well made dog collar with good visibility that would allow me to see him at all times, and at a good price also - given that the lifespan of these types of dog collars is probably not very long, anyway.I wasn't really disappointed as the collar is well made with a strong, woven, nylon material which has a good width (about 1 inch) to it. Also the thing I really liked about this collar strait away, was that it had a large metal ring where the lead attaches to the collar. For me that is important as I have lost count of the times I have been frustrated trying to attach the lead to a collar with a small ring whilst wearing gloves. It is also easy to get off. Just press the two plastic lugs either side and it just pops off real easy. The only real bad points are where you turn it on as I found you have to press down really hard to turn it on. I found it best to slide the switch out of the covering of the collar first as this made it far easier. The only other option was to use both hands to turn it on. Admittedly I don't have the strongest of hands, but I definitely think that an older person with frail hands would struggle with this. On the good side though, it doesn't mean that your dog is going to turn it off accidentally by himself/herself by rolling around/playing or brushing against objects. Please also be aware, that it doesn't come charged and you will need to charge it before you use it or test its brightness. The charging lead is really short about 30 cm and this may or may not be a bad thing, depending on where you want to charge it. Also, I initially found this collar too big and had to adjust it, which was not as intuitive as one might expect, but nevertheless easy to do when you realize that it's just a matter of pushing the collar up through the plastic slider. Doing this doesn't affect the visibility of the collar in any way as the slider is not a solid piece of plastic but cut-out so the lit part shows through. Also, when it comes to the adjustment, I have found that the collar slides to it's original position. There are two ways you can get round this. I put a drop of superglue inside the lug of the collar and pressed down until it was set, to stop the collar sliding to it's original position. Or alternatively, I could have put a couple of stitches in it to stop it from sliding. In hindsight, I should have gone with the smaller one and stretched it out to it's full capacity, rather than being overly cautious and getting the next size up and having to adjust it. Something to think about? Better still though, the manufactures should have at least tested it properly and designed it so that when you adjust it, the collar stays where it is.The bottom line? Despite the seemingly bad points (which are not really that bad anyway) this collar is well made and of good quality with superb visibility in the green light. It has three modes: Fast flash, slow flash and permanently on, respectively. This means that when you first press the on button it will flash fast. Press the on button again and it will flash slower. Press the on button a third time, and you have permanently on, and of course, the fourth press turns it off. Battery life is so far good and as of writing, it hasn't been charged since its initial charge. The real bottom line? I love this collar and now use it all the time, instead of his leather collars. Definitely glad I bought it.

Excellent for night time dog walking
This is the second one we have purchased. The first was more than 5 years ago, such is their durability. It is excellent for keeping an eye on your dog in the back garden at night, as well as allowing other pedestrians to see the dog when you are out walking your dog on dark nights.

Not the best
When charged, it's great - my dog is visible (black shepherd) and it fits well. Buckle seems sturdy.However.There seems to be no indication of when the battery is low and needs charging. Several times we come back from a walk where the collar was on and lit up. Put it away, use it the next day and won't even turn on. Needs to be charaged. Not very helpful - it doesn't seem to dim or turn off mid walk. The charging port cover came off almost immediately. I did try to pull it from the wrong side (user error!) but it still broke easily.
