Great product for the price!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I found 9 old vhs tapes, four were labeled, 5 were not. I sent two of the labeled tapes out for conversion, and while I got a good digitized result back, I felt I could do just as good a job, if I had a vhs player. Ran a neighborhood ad and a friend gave be an old one from his garage. GPTChat told me that I had to have a video capture device to proceed, I looked on Amazon, ignored the expensive models and choose this one. Fantastic choice, used it along with OBS studio a free program on line and have been copying the remaining tapes myself, with as good as, or better results than I received professionally. I am very satisfied with the product. What can I say, it works! Plug and play, easy to use, doesn't cost an arm and leg.

Connects easily to our vintage Sony digital HandyCam.
This video capture device is a big win: connects easily to our ancient camcorder and Win11 laptop (I used the Yellow and Red cables instead of the S-Video connector), and we are using it to digitize all those 8MM tape cassettes floating around the house. We used the video capture software we already have (VLC Media Player -- it's a little glitchy running under Win11, but it's fine for what we're doing). When we're done, we'll use video editing software to clip out the best parts of 35 years of footage (including, of course, all the actual foot-age). Yippee!

Well, it worked
The device worked as designed. However you should know that you will need M/M patch cords to connect to VHS player. I plugged into my computer and device was recognized right away (win 11).There is one thing I must warn you about. I suggest using the Potplayer software app BUT DO NOT USE THE WEBSITE FROM THE INSTRUCTIONS!I cannot emphasize this enough. Typing in that URL leads to all kinds of wonky exe files. Stay away. Simply Google Potplayer and their website will offer you a choice of 32 or 64 Bit apps with up-to-date software.Install, follow printed instructions and Bob's your uncle.

So far, it works
I am using this product to digitize old vhs tapes with an old, and still working, vcr player. It does what it is supposed to do. For this "exercise" to be successful, the OBS Studio (free) must be downloaded.

Worked great on a Mac with QuickTime
It worked great on a Mac with QuickTime. At first, I was a bit confused because I expected a message to appear when I plugged in the device, but nothing showed up. However, I was able to "record a new movie" by selecting both the camera and microphone as the USB device. There were no issues with audio syncing. So far converted multiple Hi8 tapes.

Plug & Play easy connect and great quality to capture old camcorder video to my Mac
Worked perfectly for transferring video from my old Panasonic PV-GS19 camcorder to my MacBook. It connected and added the driver immediately, and the instructions for running QuickTime Player, and capturing the video was simple. Happy about the price, quality and ease of use. q

Great for capturing old family movies
This device was simple to use and was able to capture family movies from old VHS tapes and eventually load to our media library and YouTube to share with family.

Decent digitizer for my old video tapes
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Good value for the money. I couldn’t get it to work with my MacBook Air, but it works fine with my older Vaio laptop using Windows 10.
