Very useful
Whether is be for pulse rate of SPO2 - This kit is accurate.I base this on when ill it reflects that fact and if not gives normal results. Graph setting for people with Low or Hogh Pulse or low SPO2 - It can be used for sleep study with a 24 hour memory. Let me tell you now.. MEMORY DATA IS DELETED NOT WHEN SWITCHED OF - IT WILL BE DELETED IF YOU HAVE ENDED RECORD AND INSERT FINGER. SO LONG AS FINGER IS NOT INSERTED, DATA IS STILL there... I have had mine since 4 Jun 2016. and still going strong.. Having COPD and heart problems this is a guide to take and show doctor...Not to diagnose oneself..

Here is the most complete guide to record and analyze SpO2 data. Enjoy.
Before I got into the installation under Mac OS X (for techies only), here are a few general comments:- there is no battery provided, you will need 2xAAA batteries that will last maybe two nights. Prefer rechargeable batteries.- the unit seems quite fragile but it does its job. I think it matches its rather cheap price.- software is only for Windows 7 (did not check 8 and I read from another user that it would not work under win10). It is very "light" software but again, it does the job and that's good for the money paid.HERE IS THE GUIDE TO RECORD, DOWNLOAD AND ANALYZE DATA ON WIN 7 / MAC OS X:Step A. Prepare Computer:Install Virtualbox (free) and create a virtual machine for Windows 7 (If no install cd available, get the 90 days valid image for virtual box on https://dev.modern.ie/tools/vms/mac/)Make sure that USB 2.0 is activated on Virtualbox.Once Windows is running comes the installation of the software for the unit. Neglect the CD provided with the device.1. Install the following:- Software: http://www.coopermedical.com/content/manuals-downloadsChoose SPO2 Review Software only, (SPO2 Assistant does not work with this unit).- Driver: https://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspxStep B. Record data on your Oximeter:Conventions: “Long click” means press and hold. “Short click” means just click.1. set fully charged rechargeable or disposable AAA batteries2. Long click on button should bring you the menu3. short click to navigate to record4. long click to switch record on5. insert finger (any will do. Even toe I read, with a sock)6. sleep7. at wake up time, switch record off:- long click to bring menu- shorts clicks to get to record- long click to set record off (beware not long clicking a second time, that would bring back to record on and at the same time delete the previous recording)Step C. Download and analyze data on your computer:1. Connect the device to USB using the cable provided with the unit only.2. Turn on device3. Press and hold button (Long Click) to access menu (very important! if not on menu, data won't transfer!)4. Make sure Record is set to off (it should be as per Step B. section)5. Load SPO2 Review software (Green heart)6. Click “New session” button. This is at the bottom and looks like a magnifying glass on top of a piece of paper.7. Fill in info. Name field is required, which is the name it saves the file as.8. Click OK9. The data download will execute (may take a dozen seconds)10. The data will be displayed to be analyzed. If you want to load session data later1. Load “SPO2 Review”.2. Click New session button. This is at the bottom and looks like a magnifying glass on top of a piece of paper.3. Click the "Review" radio button at top right4. Click the Find File button5. Select the file you want to load and press the Open button.Reports printing:1. Click the printer icon in SPO2 Review2. Select the type of report you want3. Press Print or Preview (Preview lets you view the report on screen without having to print. It has zoom options)Step D. (optional) CSV Data export procedure:Only available after data was downloaded using SPo2 review!1. In windows, open windows explorer (file explorer)2. go to program files/Spo2/Data.3. If only 1 file is invisible, click on “Compatibility files” in the bar above.4. You will find the files named “name_yyyymmddhhmm.csv”5. click to copy and past it on a drive connected to the virtual machine (e.g. USB stick)

Works as stated - far cheaper than any alternative
Just use the provided cd to install the necessary drivers/SP02 assistant and it works perfectly fine on Windows 7 x64.I spent hours trying to get it work using software/drivers online but the software versions makes a huge difference - the cd has the right bundle for it. Can calculate HRV easily with the data given as they provide a waveform in csv format after you save/quit each session.

excellent
really like this item. simple to use and accurate. The disc does work and loads up perfectly even for a non-IT person. Just follow the instruction book and it'll work fine. Only bit to remember is that if you want to down load your results (ie. wear it over night and download in the morning) then remember " You MUST plug in download lead BEFORE you turn it off" If you turn it off first it wipes all the memory.

Overpriced and under delivers. Very disappointed with software/operation. Not recommended.
I chose this oximeter over much cheaper alternatives in the belief I'd be able to record oxygen saturation at night. I'm using CPAP for sleep apnea and wanted to be able to demonstrate that my oxygen level was better with treatment. As a standard oximeter, this works fine but no better than the previous one I had which cost about £10 (a third of the price). I downloaded the Windows 7 software online to ensure it was as up to date as possible. However, I've had no success with using the oximeter as hoped. If I put it to record, it will shut down within minutes, so won't give me an idea of night time levels. In addition, I've struggled to import anything when connected to my PC either with the downloaded software or the brilliant 'sleepyheads' software. Also, even slight movement impacts the readings from the oximeter. Night time movement while asleep would skew figures (if I could record them!) and it slips from the finger quite easily. All in all, wish I'd bought a simple cheap oximeter and would not recommend this one over such an alternative.

Brilliant bit of kit.
Great device. Be aware that the program is on a minidisc cd and no good for slot loading cd readers. Also the device will not work for small adult or children's fingers. Otherwise it is excellent and works very well indeed.
