Ready, Set, Pad
The Recoil Shields feels like it's going to help me stay longer at the range with my arthritic shoulder. My shoulder after a couple of clays gets sore with the recoil. I have yet to take it out to the range but along with my shotgun pad and this should pad it already feels like a winner. This denim pad is simple to strap on and clasp along with offering additional protection. I do have to say that on its own it feels flimsy but in addition with a gel shotgun pad, it does feel good. The pad itself also helps you cradle the shotgun comfortably and stabilizes the barrel. I've also tried it out with my 6.5 Creedmoor and it looks like it would also help with the recoil of that rifle. The straps on the pad give it versatility to bigger and smaller shooters outside of the "normal" sizes. It also seems like it's good for left-handed shooters with no compromise in length or girth. Before really sizing it to fit, I made sure to crumple it and break it in for a more custom fit.

Does not quite fit well for leftys
The pad is made of a great material, very durable, and the buckles are metal and solid construction. However, this recoil pad is advertised as for right and left handed shooters, and you have to flip the straps around so they are facing the outside. Does not sacrifice comfort or function, just looks a little off, and for a competition shooter, looks a little unprofessional. The straps are also very, very long and have a bunch of excess for me, being about 150 Ibs and 5'9", and the straps needed to be tied and rolled up. But, the pad covers the shooter's pocket very well and definitely has helped me with recoil mitigation. Would recommend to a right handed shooter, and definitely is designed for a bigger person, though can be easily modified to accommodate a thinner person.

Excellent latch system, confusing straps and recoil pads
I've used a PAST recoil shield for years, and in at least one area, this one is superior. That's the strap latching system. PAST pads use a velcro closure, while this one uses a very positive metal latch with easy adjustment. And the straps are long enough for a big guy to wear this shield comfortably. The actual shoulder pad on this system is a bit confusing. Since it goes completely over the shoulder in a mirror image, you have to make sure you put it on correctly, since only one side seems to have recoil foam sewn inside.

Adjustable Denim Recoil Pad
This handy pad helps to reduce kickback from shotgun or large caliber rifle. It’s made from a denim fabric, one half of it fitted with padding to reduce the perceived recoil. You can flip it to put on either shoulder and adjust it to your body type. The first time I put it on I managed to have the padded side on the back, so be mindful of that. The efficacy of the pad depends on the firearm and the shell or cartridge used, in my case, with a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun I found it to be moderately effective.I like the quick release buckles. I saw pads with cheap plastic fasteners, but this one is equipped with good metal buckles. Sadly, they also have a problem – straps slippage. If you stand in the range, it doesn’t matter, they won’t slip too much, but if you are active and moving, perhaps hunting in the woods, you will need to readjust them periodically, because the buckles don’t keep the straps securely where you set them. It feels like either the tension loops need to have narrower slots, or the straps need to be little thicker to stay in place.I think I’d give it 4 stars.

Adjustable recoil shield fits well, but is too thick for me
I like the adjustable straps and the quick disconnect fasteners of this recoil shield. But upon putting it on and bringing my shotgun up to my shoulder, I realized my sight picture was altered too much. The gun was too far away from my grip and my sighting eye. The feeling was like wearing a heavy coat. The gun I was using had a hard horn buttplate, so I didn't notice any drag when shouldering it. But the increased thickness and a rubber buttplate would definitely be problematic for me.It's well made and the two adjustable straps work well to get the correct placement on the shoulder. But the thickness, while doing a good job of reducing felt recoil, makes wearing it feel awkward. I shoot skeet and often shoot four rounds of 25 shots each, so reducing felt recoil is an advantage I was trying to achieve.I'll try it some more and see if it affects my scores, and also try different shotguns to see if they feel any better. I think hunters who shoot more punishing loads could benefit greatly by using this shield.

Helps with recoil
I have a .338 caliber rifle that kicks like a mule! This pad helps reduce the recoil enough that I don't bruise anymore. I have also used it with my shotguns and although I don't really need it for that, it did allow me to shoot more. It is easy to wear and store in my gear.

Helpful, but needs more padding
This recoil shoulder pad is just okay. It fits well once adjusted, but it really needs to be much thicker. It does add some padding, but not really enough to make much of a difference. Not only that, it needs some better stiffening in it. I will use it, but I'm still looking for a better option.
