This gun functions perfectly fine, though has a few major issues. The cylinder and ejection system are very janky and don't work well, so you really have to push on the rod to get the shells out. Secondly is the build quality. The barrel is VERY loose (even when the screws holding it in are tightened greatly), and the internals are not held together well (the hammer catch either jammed or broke altogether, rendering it useless). However, the outer build quality (especially the hammer) is quite durable for the price. Most dart pistols on Amazon around this price suffer from the hammer snapping after minimal use.

My plans for this toy pistol can be seen by looking at my second photo, with the other toy gun and the hand-painted cap-gun, which was originally neon-pink or something.I intend to paint the gun I'm reviewing here with metallic primer and then hand-paint the grip with enamel like I did that cap gun. I may change the grip color from time to time, and I may paint the gun black again, all for the sake of variety.Poof--instant prop gun. And people will be completely convinced it is made of metal in photos and videos. I'm not on the whole "gangster" thing either. My models and I produce photos and videos of action heroines.I've made swords out of wood and painted them to look like a very convincing replica of a genuine weapon, and no clumsy models injuring themselves either.And that brings me to the whole "be responsible" part. When I was a child, my father told me to never point a gun, even a toy at a person. Fast forward to adulthood, and I've had friends who thought it was funny to point their actual gun at me as a joke and get offended at my reprimand.A few years ago, two of my models got into an argument during a photo shoot. The prop weapons I had painted were on the drafting table. They were arguing so loud, a sheriffs deputy who was walking by knocked on the door.I carefully led him in and told him where the props were and what they were made of. He was suspicious until he pushed one and laughed at how light it was.Then he told me that I might want to reconsider spending my time with these two women and departed with a laugh.My point is, this toy looks like a gun when you are in shadow. A cop will not know the difference. Don't have this toy around a child unless you contextualize it for them, and don't let them perceive it as some goofy ha-ha sort of thing, feel me?Use your common sense with things like this. They can be quite fun, but only if you are responsible.Keep demonstrating all that wonderful responsibility my friends.

For the price a really fun fidget toy! And the bullets are just enough to make russian roulette fun but not painful.

Luckily, my order did in fact come with everything it was shown as having. The package included the revolver, the holster, glasses, shells, foam bullets, shell casings, and the gel beads (which I haven't used).The revolver itself is of similar build quality to the other toy pistols in this price range (that's to say that it's almost all plastic externals), though it has a decent heft to it from the metal internals so it doesn't really feel cheap. It comes with enough foam bullets that you should be able to easily replace any lost ones to a certain extent, which I imagine will happen quite a lot as they're relatively small. The gun is single action, meaning for every shot you have to cock the hammer (which also advances the cylinder to the next round) as opposed to double action/single action, which would allow you to both cock the hammer and fire the round with a trigger pull. Personally, I would prefer if it were a DASA, however for under $20 dollars, this is very acceptable, and actually may be preferable to some people as it makes firing a much more involved experience.The spring in the revolver is actually quite powerful, even more so than I was expecting when comparing it to my other toy pistols. The strength of the round when using the foam bullets actually depends on where you place them in the casing. If you load them from the front end of the casing, the bullets are shot out with less force than if you load them from the back, as the "firing pin" has further to travel to contact the bullet. If you load them from the back, just pushing them in far enough that they're seated in the casing, they're shot out extremely hard. As in, hard enough that it will sting your hand from close range after a shot or two, hard.So, if you're buying this for your kids, I would definitely recommend that you make them make use of the provided safety glasses when using back loaded rounds (less of an issue with the front loaded rounds, but let's be real, if you're a kid playing with this, you're going to be doing whatever gets you the most power out of it). Normally I'm not a stickler about these kind of things as realistically there's not much danger in foam bullets, but this isn't a nerf gun. The bullets are extremely small and light, and the spring is strong enough that a point blank shot to an eye could do some real damage to a person's cornea (adult or child). That's not to fault this revolver in anyway though, if anything it's a benefit and only makes it cooler, and of course it comes with a set of safety glasses, so you don't have to buy a pair if you're buying it for your kids.As long as you instruct them not to use it on anyone at point blank range, again, speaking realistically, the risk of hurting the person being shot is about the same as with a nerf gun; so it's completely fine for kids to use. Nerf guns are just as dangerous to your eyes at point blank range, but my point still stands. Like any of these semi-realistic shell ejecting guns, it's best that they stick to indoor usage. A toy gun could still of course be mistaken for a real one (I've seen people call the police on kids with bright yellow nerf guns, so this could definitely ruffle a few feathers), especially when it's only slightly larger than a real S&W Model 15 and uses similar colors with the exception of the orange tip. It also just helps with being able to locate the bullets after they're shot, as otherwise it would be far too easy to lose them given their size and darker blue color.Overall, I'm very happy with this revolver, especially at under twenty dollars. Whether you're buying it for yourself to play and fidget around with (and yes, you can absolutely play Russian roulette with this if you wanna go full Deer Hunter with a couple of friends, just front load it and take extra care not to point it at your eyes and you'll be fine), or buying one or two for your kids to play with, this is a great toy.

This is a great toy that is about as accurate to a revolver as you can make a toy! It is good for teaching exactly how a revolver works as well, in a safe way up close!

Lever broke. Would self release and fire off.Otherwise a nice toy.
