I wasn't disappointed - great product
Build quality is excellent. No screws - but a very secure item.It was easy to set up with a 4TB M.2. - the instructions however, could be improved a lot. That's my only complaint.

Noisy Fan
The unit works great but the fan is very loud. It was quite a job but I replaced it with a Noctua one and it's much better :)

4+ Stars, because I’m a dolt.
I had an older slower enclosure, new PC had USB4 ports, same NVMe 4TB, a bit more than double performance. The old enclosure performs the same via the USB C port. HOWEVER… drives connected to the USB A 3.1 ports are comically slow, literally pointless (connecting them directly to bypass this hub triples the performance. Also, please note NO HDMI support, only display ports x2. (My bad, not theirs.)

Defect and The Seller kept the defect Device AND my money
THe product got extremely loud and the NVME speed was very slow. The seller asked for the product to be returned, issued a label, and tracking showed they received the device. They then stopped answering and kept the money. The emails are opened in mainland china even though this is (supposedly) Amazon Prime. Out of three devices NONE worked on my Mac Mini M4 Pro.

Quality item, but with some limitations
I added a SSD drive card — that works just fine. But I tried to connect a portable monitor, and I could not get any of the connection options to power the portable monitor. I emailed for suggestions - and got no real response — not happy with their technical service help.

Thunderbolt 3/4 disk, video, USB hub
I had a laptop with a Thunderbolt 4 port. I wanted an external NVMe disk, but also video and USB. The 405 Plus provides all three features at an unmatched price. It does not provide power delivery to the host, so I continue to use the power adapter that came with the laptop. Thunderbolt carries PCIe, DisplayPort, and USB protocol. The PCIe goes to the NVMe disk, there are two DP ports, and three 10G USB (2A, 1C). Needing HDMI I pugged in an active DP to HDMI adapter, and a USB to 2.5G Ethernet adapter. The external adapters would have added to my total cost if I did not already have them sitting around. Everything works perfectly and at full speed. I confirm the other reviews on disk speed but saw no reviews of the Plus model that also used the DP and USB.

Good little hub.
I got this hub because I was looking for an external SSD enclosure with full thunderbolt speeds. The fact that it had additional ports was a bonus. I have not tested the speed capability of the USB ports as it is not hat important to me due to the onboard SSD. The ports are just used for peripherals and to connect a monitor periodically. The only thing that would make it better is if it had Ethernet, audio and SD card ports.

the speed is very good
the SSD enclosure works quite well, the speed is very good, I use it to edit videos from there. The only thing I did not like was that the cable that came was a little loose and makes it disconnect at the slightest movement.
