Love it! Great colour!

I really like the loreal hicolor reds. I have been using this product for about 2 years now maybe 3.They cover well. I use several different colors but mostly h8 red fire.I occasionally mix in intense red or copper red.In some of the photos my hair may look like it has some blue or purple in it but it does not that is the light from the three computer monitors that are in front of me in each of those photos. In some light my hair looks very copper orange and other light it looks very Auburn.I'm over all extremely pleased with this product. I'm not sure if L'Oreal is still making it however. I will definitely keep buying it as long as I can.Oh, and I have a lot of gray in my hair. Also I don't use 30 volume developer. I use 10-volume developer. If you have dark hair you will definitely want to use 30 volume developer especially if it's dark hair that hasn't been coloured (you really can't know what the results are going to be if you have dyed your hair a dark colour and then try putting this over it, you may want to consult a professional). Here's a little advice from someone who has covered their gray hair for over 30 years, DO NOT start at your roots (!!!) put it on your lengths first, then ends, and then put it on your roots for the last while otherwise you will get hot roots. That means that your roots will be much lighter than your ends you don't want that to happen.A mistake that I made over the years is recolouring the hair that had already been coloured before, to add a little bit of colour freshness to it, however it has gotten to be a little too dark so I'm changing my routine a little bit by using a lighter, copper red on the lengths occasionally, and red fire on the roots with a little bit of intense red added to help cover the gray.Another thing, red hair is difficult to maintain! you can't be constantly washing it and expect the colour to stay in! I only wash my hair once a week, in cold or cool water. Just keep that in mind. because my hair grows fast and it has a lot of gray in it, I have to recolour about every 3 weeks.Happy colouring!

You might as well get regular box dye

I was soooo excited after watching YouTube on how to get bright vibrant colors without using bleach, so I bought the “intense red” bc I wanted to spice it up a little since I loc’d my 4C hair and was planing to dye the retwist it. I followed the directions but it only gave me a purplish tint like I just put a rinse on my hair. Not even one strand looked red. Some of my scalp felt like it was getting ready to burn a little and I had a PTSD moment with it feeling similar to how perm feels when you leave it in too long, so I rinsed it out thinking it processed long enough (and of course thinking I need to rinse this out before my hair falls out) I don’t know how people kept this stuff on for 40+ minutes bc when I rinsed washed my hair, it was literally smoking! And my hair felt so brittle I had to save it by deep conditioning and oils for it to not even color it. I’m not sure what chemicals are in this but sis just buy the box dye bc the SMELL of this stuff smells like something you shouldn’t even slather on your hair. It was so strong, it was burning my eyes and nose and had to open a window. But all of that just to have my hair tinted you wouldn’t know it’s “colored” unless in the sun. I know people say this is a “healthier” method than traditional box dye but it’s just bad if not worse(bc why was my scalp burning and hair smoking?) At least with the other box dye I know my hair would be the color it claims it’ll be. I’m not sure if I didn’t use enough developer or if the product I got was defective or what, but take a gamble if you want ladies.

Easy to use

The direction are very tiny on the side of the box. For a second I thought it didn’t have any but once you find them, it’s very straightforward. It definitely colored my dark brown almost black hair, but in the future I would personally:- let product process longer, checking every 10-15 minutes. For this round, I let it process for 30 minutes then colored my roots and let it process for another 10 minutes, so 40 minutes in all. I’ve seen another people process for a total of an hour and the color came out brighter.- I used 20 volume developer but I may use 30 next time to help it process faster/better.Surprisingly, my hair doesn’t feel very damaged nor did I have a lot of shedding after rinsing the color out. My hair doesn’t look or feel any worse for wear. I’d definitely buy the product again.

BANGER ….

I been on red for many year many different hairstyles and CLAIROL HIGH COLOR is the one .. Last long doesn’t make natural hair fell too much like straw … I was skeptical buying this off Amazon as opposed to a more popular beauty supply but hey its working out well

Not the results I was expecting

I e used this copper color in the passed not sure what went wrong but instead of orange copper red like I was expecting I got a chucky doll kinda red. I do like the end result but I needed orange for my mad hatter costume. So now I’ll have to go out and buy another temp color hoping that’ll brighten it up
