The smelliest thing I've ever encountered
I had no idea soft cod roe was this smelly. The moment you try to cook it, it pongs to the extent the whole neighbourhood could smell it. The spouse refused to eat it. I tried baking it, frying it, made no difference. It stinks of rotten fish no matter what you do.

Very tasty
I use seasoned flour and toss them lightly then fry them in butter till golden brown! Spread them on toast and I squeeze them with lemon juice! Gorgeous.
