Comfortable handle, excellent lid.
My crafting and art business goes through a LOT of #11 blades, and I've personally tried every handle I have come across over the last 20+ years, searching for a few criteria to make a good craft knife blade handle. First, how comfortable is it in your hand in various grips; then, how good does it hold the blade, is there enough tension to hold the blade securely; next, how good are the materials it is made out of, and is the central stem going to break under pressure; lastly, how good is the lid that protects you and everything else from the blade when the knife is not in use. These handles work well for ALL of these criteria, and so far, we haven't broken one yet. The internal aluminum stem is usually the weak point, and the ones in these handles seem heavy and well cast. They grip the blades well, and we have not had any blades slipping out. These handles are comfortable to hold in a variety of grips, and the coating has a good amount of squish while still allowing for control. And the lids, oh how we all love the lids!Too many knife handles have the lids designed as a kind of afterthought, and they either fall off right from the bat, or wear out quickly and don't stay on. There are some lids where you have to have the blade lined up a particular way. I even found a lid design that is dangerous to put on the blade. (Looking at you, new Exacto handle.) The lid for this Excel handle is simply a round cap that fits with a nice tight tolerance on the round bezel of the knife handle, meaning it is easy to put on, and does not look like it will loosen up or break any time soon. Plus, the lids are not made from a brittle plastic that would be likely to break. All of this equals a knife handle that is pleasant to use, keep on our work table, and travel with.Already purchased two for the business, and the next time we break an older handle, it's getting replaced with one of these Excel handles. And thank you Excel for having basic black as a color option!

Feels good in my arthritic hands.
So much nicer for my arthritic hands than the standard round metal exactly.Blades are very sharp.

Awesome !
This knife is great if you work with a craft knife often and for hours at a time. It feels really nice to hold like you can grip it nice and it doesn’t roll around like my other hobby knifes. The tension screw at the top is easy to loosen and holds up really well! It’s a quality knife. I would but it in store if you can as they’re usually cheaper in store

A cut above
I've given glowing reviews on other Excel hobby knives when I saw a video about the Excel Fit Grip knife. I have big hands and the regular hobby knife skinny handle sometimes feels a little too dainty. I have no intention of getting rid of my regular hobby knives, but the Fit Grip really fits my hand. Especially if I have something I REALLY need to exert some pressure on while cutting. Great product.

Forget Xacto or Fiskars or...
After the Fiskars knife fiasco, gone back to what is the only hobby knife you should ever buy. EXCEL. Not a single flaw with any of their knifes. Best quality, best design, best performance.

Fantastic!! (using size 11 blades in this handle)
I was using the regular metal Xacto handle for my craft projects. First, they hurt my fingers SO much that I'd have to stop and take a break for multiple days after just to give my fingers a rest. But my biggest issue was that the Xacto handles weren't holding the blades secure. I'd start using it and right off the bat, the blades would come loose. So dangerous and frustrating.I finally looked up recommendations and this brand kept coming up so I finally bought one and I really would like to kick myself in the butt for not doing it sooner. My #11 blades fit securely and haven't come loose once, and the soft grip on the entire handle part is SUCH a relief on my fingers.I really wish I had found this sooner. Probably would've completely my current project a lot sooner.

More comfy! Better than X-acto
Wish I had made the switch years ago! It's definitely easier on the fingers. The curved shape lets me hold it in more positions to save the wear and tear on my forefinger and thumb. The cap is better than X-acto too -- the Excel cap is softer plastic, and being able to bend means it can withstand more use. The X-acto cap is hard plastic and cracks easily. I always had to tape the X-acto cap to keep it together. And the shape keeps it from rolling away. :)This is the craft handle for me! No more X-acto Gripster!
