BTECH BL-5L 3800mAh USB-C Charging Li-ion Battery Pack, High Capacity Extended Battery for UV-5X3, BF-F8HP, and BaoFeng UV-5R Series Radios (BL-5 Battery Series)

The battery fit and charged up using the factory charging cradle. I did not charge it for the first time with it installed on the radio, just incase of a problem. After charging, it slipped right on the radio and snapped in place just like an OEM battery. I ran the radio (monitoring only) all day with no drop showing on the battery charge indicator. We will see how it holds up on the next outing with actual real world use.

These batteries have a higher capacity than the stock ones. I’ve left my UV5R on overnight and woke up to it still having all 3 bars or only down to 2 bars of charge. The USB-C charging is really nice. It has a factory appearance and doesn’t appear out of place on the handset, while giving more surface area to hold onto. (While still being small enough to remain portable) It works well and still charges on the cradle so it’s more flexible than the stock ones.

Just the charger pack I needed for my radio… my previous battery case used the docking charger. The fact that this mounted perfectly and let me charge it via usb-C was a complete game changer. Now I’m always topped off on my battery and I carry enough extra power banks that I can always top off if ever needed!

Stop messing around with the special cord and charger. These batteries are awesome, love the fact that I can plug in a normal USB c in the truck and leave it.

This larger capacity battery for the Baofeng uv5r are a must have accessory. They give much more life than the original small battery. One of them charges with a usb c to enable continous power like say for instance if you wanted to have the radio always powered on in the car using the power port on the car. The other ones that hold a charge are also rechargeable thru the side of the battery which is nice because on the original small battery you have to charge it via the charging dock, which I don't like as it could break on you. Out of three radios I bought one of the charging stations was broke out of box and didn't work versus when you buy these batteries it comes with a cord to charge throught the side dc 12v round port. Nice size fills out the rest of the shape of the radio. Not too heavy for the size and capacity that it offers.

Works perfectly, has a long battery life and came charged. Currently using it in the mountains and havent had to charge it in 2 days with it constantly broadcasting
