KensingtonPro Fit Ergonomic Wired Keyboard- Black (K75400US)

I waited awhile to post this review to make sure it was functioning well long term. So far so good! The wrist pad is very comfortable, the negative tilt feels comfortable and relaxed, and the soft type keys feel very nice under the fingers. The biggest pet peeve I've had with previous keyboards I've tried in the last few years are stuck keys and very flimsy feet that break off easily. Those were for a Nulea keyboard and I've had none of those issues with this one.So far I would highly recommend this keyboard.

Got this to replace a Microsoft Sculpt that died, which I loved, and they stopped making. I didn't love it enough to let the barbarians who still have a couple in stock have their way with me or my wallet... so I had to settle.This almost feels like the Sculpt, except the action of the keys is somehow softer, less confident. Neither of them are "clicky" key-feel (few are these days), but this one is just a little harder to feel the key has been actuated. And something about the key spacing is... off for me. I can't even tell what exactly, but I'm finding it too easy to have hands shift one direction or another and be typing utter nonsense if I'm not watching ( I don't look the keyboard when I type, and half the time not even be watching what's appearing on the screen constantly, just spot checking glances to ensure I haven't wandered across the keyboard). The top-right quadrant is especially annoying, I'll reach for the backspace and hit insert or the cacluator button every. Single. Time. I don't have any other real complaints about it, and I'm hoping my muscle memory will reset and relearn itself to this layout/spacing eventually... but I still think fondly of my old Sculpty and her pretty curves.

I tried two other keyboards before this one. and I was bracing myself to have to buy a super-expensive one, just to get something I liked. But this one is near perfect.I love the soft, almost-silent touch of the keys. The previous keyboard I tried had squishy keys that actually fatigued my hands by the end of the day, due to the effort needed to push them. On this keyboard it feels good to type.I also like that the caps lock light is in the upper right corner, not on the key, which means I can see it without moving my hand (this was a problem with one of the other keyboards I tried). The split between F6 and F7 threw me off for a bit, but I've adjusted (the old Microsoft ergo keyboard split between f5 and f6, so I had to adjust to the different positions). Aside from that, all the keys are in the right place and I'm pretty good at hitting them without looking.I like the spacing and layout of the arrow keys. This keyboard doesn't try to do anything fancy with the layout, which means it looks plain, but the keys are all in the right place.If I had to complain? I'd rather there be no keys at all above the backspace key. It's easy to aim too high and hit the calc or the lock key instead of backspace. A little extra space between the numbers and the F keys might be nice, as well. But it's rare that I punch the wrong key. Maybe a little more padding on the wrist rest -- this one isn't as cushiony as the others I've tried. I'd also like pop-out feet at the top and bottom of the keyboard -- this one only has them at the bottom, which seems like the opposite of what most people would want. But I'm very comfortable typing with it, the way it is.

I'm a 30 years user of the best keyboard every made, the Microsoft Natural Elite Ergonomic Keyboard. The Pro Fit is the first membrane keyboard I've tried in years.- Keyboard bottom is not adequately fitted with non-slip pads, it will tend to move around. I had to put some non-stick rubber 'fabric' on the bottom.- Key placement/separation is just incorrect. The spacing between the hands is a bit too wide and the spaces between each key thereby is insufficient. While the center keys for memory-placement is generally ok, the outer keys on each side, especially c, v, b are wrongly designed. While the right hand y, h, and n are wider to be found easier, strangely, the left side end keys g and b are normalish, meaning they are easy to miss, your fingers will need retraining to use them. The curve of the keys on the left hand is excessive and does not match the right side 'half'. Its almost like the left hand is designed for a smaller hand and is an excessive curvature when compared to the right hand.The top row of function keys, though less rarely used these days, those keys are vertically too close to the number keys row. The function keys are also too short vertically as most of the other keys.I like the quietness of this keyboard. I do wish there was another 1-2 mm of vertical travel for each keypress.I also got a Nulea RT05C keyboard and decided to keep the Kensington. The key layout of the Nulea is just too weird, especially on the right side where they have compressed in unrecognizable ways making anyone familiar with the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite (or Logitech ergonomic K860) have to relearn a lot.

I love this style keyboard easy on the hands, fills weird using a normal board.
