Good quality, weatherproof seal
Good quality, seals the cord, easy-to-use terminals

Clamps well on thick insulated wire.
Decent design worked for my use case, which was a thick insulated wire with the need to attach a NEMA 15. Plug went on well and clamped down well for my indoor use case. Screws go into plastic, and be mindful as some fully seat in less than one turn. It’s not a problem unless you over tighten.I would buy again for a similar use case.

Leviton is a good brand
I had a 50 ft extension cord take some damage in the middle, and instead of trying to repair it, decided to make two smaller extension cords, so I bought this male plug and the female Leviton 515CR version. The outlets are definitely larger than the machined ends, but that is required since you have to access the screw terminals to make the connections. The quality is fine and supposedly better than some of the cheaper brands out there that get bad reviews. For me the extra price is worth it. I want to do this one time and be done. I use extension cords all the time, and I don't want to have to worry about the quality of the connector or have a failed install and have to start all over again with a different connector. It's a lot more expensive to make an outlet that a human installs than an outlet that a machine can put on, but it's easy to make an inferior and cheaply made outlet for less money. Unfortunately, the price for the male and female ends are not a lot less than the price for a new extension cord, but I'd rather not through away perfectly good cable that has damage in one spot. You get what you pay for and these appear to be well constructed. As far as weatherproof, I feel they have done the best they can. Nothing beats a machined end for water tightness at the back of terminal. They use a cable clamp on the back end of the outlet to hold the cable in place and so you don't stress the screw terminals. Even at the appropriate tightness, I believe some water could enter the back of the terminal. I don't think that's avoidable, and in my opinion does not detract from the quality of the connector.

Good quality plug end: Splash proof.
Very satisfied with this purchase. Fixed my 50ft 12g extension cord that had a broken ground prong on the male end. The repair was simple and obvious for a long-time DIY'r like me. You shouldn't expose too much of the internal cables insulation. Only remove about a half inch of outer casing past where the wires are stripped. My cord had cable wire (not solid) so I simply removed the screw with the small clamping piece, wrapped the exposed wire around the screw, and reclamped. The color scheme of the screws is traditional. This resulted in a strong connection for each cable. The rear half of the plug was previously placed on the round extension cord without problems. This piece has a grommet like rubber seal inside to resist water entry. When the pieces are brought together they only fit one way due to a tab and slot combo. The pieces are then screwed together, and the end is clamped to the cord. The clamp had covered screw ends which is nice when pulling the plug out or putting it in. The final result felt very solid. Not a cheap feel at all and it was better than I expected at this price. However I can't say it's waterproof because where the pieces come together is not sealed. It's a very nice tight fit, but not sealed. So I'd say it was "splash proof". You could probably* waterproof it if you want to by completely filling the inside with silicon adhesive before mating the two halves together (*disclaimer: I'm not an electrician so this is just an opinion). So this should be a repair that lasts as long as the cord will... longer probably. Leviton quality at a great price.

Love it
This works well for the application. Also works well in a fish bowl.

Great Seal and Clamp to hold firm
This plug was easy to install and really has a nice build. The size is nicely compact for a plug of this type. The best thing I liked was the solid clamp around the wires and sheathing.

Huge, easy to wire, Frustrating to screw shut.
OK, so it's a new plug, & it has an easy to screw in plug with built in 'washers' to hold the frayed wires in place while you tighten the screws. Great, and works well. There's plenty of room to work, & a nice rubbery ring around the wire entry point, so it's protected from the elements, when done.Downside: it has 3 screws holding it together, and they Appear to be an equilateral triangle placement.Unfortunately, it's not. CLOSE, but not quite, and that 'not quite' part is extremely annoying. First, because you don't see it right away, and no directions, or logical reason for it not to be, so I spent quite a bit of time tightening two screws in, only to find the 3rd did not align with the last hole.Worse, the screws are not really pointed, so they don't seat well in the hole to start, and you simply can not see into the receptacle after the first screw is started. I got flashlights, magnifying glasses, etc, trying to see why the third hole didn't line up, but to no avail. I tried twisting it, to set the holes, with different screws, but still no luck. Third time disassembling it, I was ticked off, and about to return it, when I finally noticed the holes are NOT equilateral, and sorted out which screw went where.Wasted a lot of time trying to see in there, and figure out why the screws wouldn't align. Very frustrating, and annoying. Now, I see, and could do another one in 5 minutes, but there was no reason to expect me to figure it out. How about a simple line on the outside, saying here's where they go together, or a raised area, inside or out, to force the holes to line up. Or better yet, Make it an Equilateral Triangle of holes, so nobody has to work at it, when they obviously can't see down in there. So yes, it's easy to assemble now, but only because I know the holes are not equally spaced. One point off for holes being so close, but not actually equal. One point off for being so huge. Nobody is going to mistake this monster for being factory installed.
