I'm so angry at Amazon and they've caused me to have to remove ticks and get medicinal meds because this product doesn't work at all! I've NEVER had a problem with the topical meds for ticks and fleas on all of my dogs throughout the years, this is the first time I literally had a problem. The first time I used it, I swore it dried to fast so the second time I put it on, I timed it and the product dried before a half hour was up – NO product like this dries that fast, I asked both Petco & Petsmart employees and they said "that sounds like a bad product" and when asking the vet, they told me just to go back to my old meds because they wouldn't trust that just on that fact alone. And during the last two months of use, my poor pup has suffered so much itches and I had to pick so many ticks off him while we walk - I can literally see them jump on him while walking and remove them instantly, but I never had that with the other brands. It also looks like there's hardly any product in each tube - it comes out like water and it dries within ten minutes! Just ridiculous - I don't like that I have to wait a whole day to pet my pup on the upper back area when I put the good topical meds, but at least I know it's working; Amazon basically is selling a dangerous product that doesn't work. Very upset because this is my baby, a family member - it's not like the wrong size t-shirt or something. And then buying some of the medicinal shampoos on here became a fiasco too and just made the whole experience even worse. I just highly recommend you don't buy this med if you love your pup because it will not protect them and no way is it waterproof, I just know that is a bogus claim after all of the other issues above. Very upset and hope this helps prevent other pups from getting sick.

The price attracted me to this product. So glad it did as it works just as well as the more expensive ones on the market. No more flea problems at my house!

My dog seemed to tolerate it better than other brands I've used.

I purchased the "6 month supply", which is only one month for all 4 of my dogs and the following month for 2 of them. Lol Anyway on to the real meat if this review. I have 4 small dogs, none over 15lbs, because they were all just scratching themselves raw and we were all miserable( Me and hubby, too). It said that is was like Frontline Plus, which I have used in the past on the large breeds I used to rescue and Frontline worked great for them, some of them were so infested you could see the fleas crawling in them standing 10 feet away. So, having good luck with Frontline in the past and this claims to have the same active ingredients at more than 50 % price decrease fro. Frontline, I was very excited. I ordered on April 30th, it arrived promptly the next afternoon and I applied it to all 4 of my wee puppers within 20 minutes if receiving the box It wasn't overly greasy feeling on their fur, like some other topicals, which made me happy since they all sleep in bed with us. No unpleasant or harsh chemical odors either, which obviously makes all of us, fur parents and fur babies alike, happy. Super easy to apply and two if mine are super skittish when I have to put anything on them, shampoo, bug spray, flea meds, antibiotic ointment, and they both sat very calmly just looking back at me, no freak out because there wasn't the tell tale nasty smell. Within an hour I noticed all 4 seemed a great deal calner and a lot less itchy, of course they still itched and scratched off and in for another couple of days because if the existing bites, but not constantly and to the point they could barely do anything but scratch. Definitely much happier. All 6 of us got a good night's sleep on May 1st! Now, for the downside, today is May 13th, 2024, one day shy if two weeks since I applied the Amazon Basics Topical Flea and Tick treatment for small dogs 5 -22 lbs, and unfortunately all 4 of my fur babies are back to itching almost as much as they did before the treatments. It may be I live in South Texas and we have been having an usually hot, dry and (I know this seems like a contradiction, but it's not) humid lately spring early summer even for us. We've already had at least 3 heat advisory days and it's not even quite the middle of May, and the humidity levels are really high even living as close to the Gulf of Mexico as I do, but we haven't had any rain since early February. Hot, humid and Dry. Tall, dry grass plus dry sandy soil, equals horrible flea infestation. So maybe the treatment didn't last longer us due to that unusual weather conditions allowing for an overabundance of fleas. Honestly, I don't know, but I really was pleased with this initially and it worked great for the first week and a half. It may be perfect for folks that don't live quite so close to Satan's nether regions as me. I imagine it probably would work fine for someone living in Vermont or even South Carolina, but I am closer to Northern Mexico than I am to Dallas, and after work two it's no bueno por caca. It is truly unfortunate, because I have had great experiences up till now with Amazon Basics products. Well, now I have to see if I can find something else to put o on my puppers before we all lose our minds and hopefully, I won't have to start eating their canned dog food unorder to afford the flea medicine.

My dog has been on this brand for 3 years and it keeps the fleas away! You need to apply it on the same day of each month so we plan her bath/grooming trips for this.
