Pretty good little bookshelf system!
First off, the vast majority if not all of the packaging is recyclable. Whoever at Philips did the packaging also did a really nice job. The little touch of folding a tab into the tape used to secure one of the bags was greatly appreciated. As for the product itself, it looks fairly nice. The speakers have about 5 feet of speaker wire each, and the power cord is also about 5 feet long, which seems generous these days. They are all permanently attached (speaker wires are permanently attached to the speakers, and the power cord is permanently attached to the base unit), which isn't necessarily ideal especially for the speakers, but certainly not a deal breaker, and it may make setup easier for some. The Bluetooth works well and is easy to setup. I haven't tried the CD or radio functions yet, so I can't really speak to those. What I can speak to is the sound quality. I'm no audiophile, and the unit is set up in a lab, not a quiet living room or den. However, it's more than loud enough for a working bio lab without the sound distorting at all, and it sounds absolutely fantastic, especially when compared to the Bluetooth speakers and old computer speakers we had been using. Overall, I'm really happy with it so far.

Buy it!
Love it! Would recommend for smaller spaces. Sound quality is great! Radio, CD player, reads USBs, and Bluetooth!!! Great buy for me with a ton of old CDs.

Main unit is better than the speakers
The main unit works great, but the speakers are not very good. I use different speakers with the main unit, and it sounds quite good.

Sound quality important to me
I’m very pleased with this CD player. I wanted a player with (1) good sound quality, (2) ease of operation and (3) one that would not require a lot of space. I liked that it was all assembled and only had to be plugged it was on sale when I bought it and I feel was very fairly priced.

Great All The Way Around!
Greetings, Good Lookers!I trust you all are doing well.I ordered this system, and had it the very next day!!I opened the very sturdy box, thinking I would I would set things up a few days later; but, I could not wait; Everything was well-packed and secure. Then I saw the instructions! YIKES!Nonetheless, I unpacked everything, and saw the instructions. Phew! They looked quite daunting; but, as I started unpacking everything -- I decided to completely ignore these complicated instructions, and just hook things up as I thought they should go...and -- Voila -- it was all hooked up and ready to rock in no time!!!!These instructions are simply a mess; but, I know you all are smart, and can hook this up in no time...I did it, so can you! The tuner and speakers seem sturdy and very well made.As for the sound -- well -- it is AMAZING! -- such powerful sounds coming out of each of these little gems (the speakers)! Clarity is amazing, and range is equally sublime! I heard the highs, the lows, and all the precious mid-range. I was amazed! I could not understand the bad reviews here.Look, I am an attorney; and a former jazz sax player, and I have loved music for all my life, Perhaps we all hear differently -- I do not know. But, I can tell you all, in my opinion these are GREAT little speakers, especially at this price-point.I can hear so many things I just could never hear with my prior speakers -- and those were NOT cheap speakers!I listen to ALL kinds of music: primarily: Classical, Jazz, and Rock-N-Roll. I have the system on my dresser, with about three-feet of separation between the speakers. The sound is phenomenal! And while I am not hip to the scene of all the new devices you kids have today-- like: Bluetooth and MP-3 Players -- I only wanted to hear my music (on CD) as it was recorded.I am very happy that I did NOT listen to the bad reviews here. These are powerful, and very loud speakers! They will fill a room easily with the precious music you want to here -- REALLY HEAR!!!!I am glad I purchased these!Rock on, kids!Dr. Of Style

Disappointing Audio Quality and Limited Functionality
As an audio enthusiast who values sound clarity and versatility, I was eager to integrate the Philips Bluetooth Stereo System into my home setup. Unfortunately, the experience has been underwhelming.Audio Performance:The system's sound output lacks depth and richness. Despite the advertised bass-reflex speakers, the bass response is weak, and the overall sound feels flat. This is particularly noticeable when playing genres that rely heavily on dynamic range.Philips Documents+3Philips USA+3Walmart.com+3Connectivity Issues:While the system offers Bluetooth connectivity, the pairing process is inconsistent. Devices frequently disconnect, and there's a noticeable lag when streaming audio. Additionally, the absence of support for advanced codecs like aptX or LDAC means audio quality over Bluetooth is subpar.User Interface and Controls:The remote control feels cheaply made, with unresponsive buttons that require multiple presses. Navigating through tracks or adjusting settings is cumbersome, detracting from the user experience.ynetnewsBuild Quality:The materials used in the system's construction feel flimsy. The CD tray mechanism is noisy and doesn't instill confidence in its durability. Furthermore, the display is dim and difficult to read from a distance.
