This is an excellent starter kit for crimping Cat5/6 cable. Lots of cutting and crimping options. Very sturdy tool with loads of useful extras.The instructions make it super easy, and the included tester gave me lots of confidence. My first cable worked great, and I only needed to practice cutting one end a couple times. Seriously -- I lost maybe 3 inches of cable mastering the techniques for installing the cable ends. Pictures are of my very first try!Depending on the cable you're using, be careful not to put too much pressure on the stripping tool, but it gives you several options for cable size.I enjoyed all the tools and have enough ends to make 25 Ethernet cables!

I needed the pass-through connectors only. I am happy that I chose this particular offering. I really didn't expect much from the crimps. These are now my favorite crimps. I can't imagine ever using the RJ-11 features, but the RJ-45 features work great. I particularly like the cutter that trims the pass-through wires. I had to adjust it a bit, but now it works great. The cable tester gets the job done. No extra frills; just a reliable device for checking continuity. The connectors themselves are good. The pins seat well and I get a solid connection to the ports. And that wire stripper is a handy little tool. I collect those things and keep them handy near my work benches. I would buy it again.

Takes a couple of crimps to completely cut the wires but it does the job ok. For the infrequent need I have to replace CAT 5-e connectors it addresses my need well. Probably not a good choice for professional use. But good for the home networker like myself.

Such a good value for what you get. The crimper works great for only being 20ish bucks. Good stuff!

Tool and kit are an outstanding buy. Crimper works as well as ones costing two or three times the price. Tester works great and is easy to use. It helped me find a bad connector. Great value for a quality tool

This is very easy to use. I like that it ratchets. The built-in stripper cuts the sheath without cutting much of the inner shielding. The little yellow stripper isn't as good and sometimes cuts too deep.The cable tester is very basic but seems to work.

I'm actually kind of impressed with this. The crimper is well constructed and does what it's supposed to do. It even comes with extra cutter blades.The small, yellow stripper for the ethernet sheathing actually works, too, surprisingly enough. Just put the cable in and spin once around without pressing down.I used the cable tester on a few cables and it seemed to work. I didn't have any cables that weren't working, so I couldn't verify how it worked in that situation, but it clearly showed continuity on the cables I tested it on.I've only made a couple cables with this set, so far, but didn't have any problems. Considering 50 pass through ethernet connectors are around $30 US at my local big box store, this seems to be a great deal.

For the price, this is a very good crimper. For household, personal use it works fine. The added rj45 passthrough connectors are an added bonus. A few of the connectors had some difficulty passing the wires through the connector however this wasn't a deal breaker. The included tester works ok but don't expect it to be as good as a Fluke tester, it's not that. It simply ensures that the wires of the 4 pair Ethernet cables work from end to end. Would recommend for DIY'ers.
