For the money, excellent design and quality - 5 stars, easy. I paid about $16, which is all I wanted to spend. I don't need one of these very often. Things I like:1) Really sharp... pay attention when using this. I'm not kidding. And be careful when cleaning it. Just rinse it, or if you want to use soap, use a brush. Keep fingers away from the sharps.2) The little knob-handle that you place on the food to hold it while you move the food back and forth, and which has little nubs to dig into the food and hold it good. With this knob, you don't have to put your fingers in jeopardy. A LOT of mandolines don't have such a knob. If you don't like the knob, consider a cut-proof glove like they wear at the deli.3) Lots of accessories. Sure, it doesn't do every conceivable thing you might want a mandoline to do, but really, none of them do, and this unit does the important ones. And it's inexpensive. The few people who bitch about this unit are welcome to spend $100+ on a mandoline, but I won't. You cannot adjust the thickness of slices; you have to spend a lot more money to get one with that feature, that works.

While this is a bit on the expensive side, it is worth the money because of the quality construction. I've tried a few different slicers over the years and this is by far the best because of it's ease in use, variety of blade attachments, and especially the ease in cleaning. I use it almost daily for salad and/or vegetable prep so easy maintenance is very important to me.

I had one of these for many years then gave it away to upgrade to a more expensive professional brand. Big mistake! So happy I found it again. Works better than the expensive brand. Will not trade it again.

I've been considering a mandoline for years but didn't want to waste money on what looked like cheap plastic models. I finally decided on this model & immediately put it to use slicing potatoes. It's amazing- I sliced a potato in 2mm slices in about 30 seconds - unfortunately, I also sliced my thumb. I'm lucky it wasn't bad - but this thing is extremely sharp & works fast. I've ordered some cut-resistant gloves and am looking forward to all kinds of efficient slicing in the future. I wish it had some sort of storage base to hold the blades but I'll improvise. I'm looking forward to many years with this - it's that well made.

I purchased a similar product through Amazon---it was of extremely poor quality. I wanted to return it, but the seller would not respond I do not recommend.I purchased the GSD over 25 years ago (seems like) The only reason I got a new one is the little "pointy"things on the pusher wore down and the pusher really needs to be used. The blades on the old one were still as sharp as when new. I am so glad this mandolin seems to be exactly the same. I use it at least twice a week, often 4/5 times. Sometimes I have something that wears out and I feel like I've lost a friend This friend will always have a place in my kitchen

This is be far the best Mandolin I have ever used. I bought some more expensive ones but they never performed as well as this one.

I am shocked to see this here today on Amazon, because I have the exact same thing I bought at Target , probably close to 20 years ago. I think I paid 10 dollars for it, though mine only has 3 interchangeable bases- two for various slicing thicknesses and one for julienne slices. I have only used the julienne blade once and it did not work very well. Otherwise for all veggie slicing is great!. It is super easy to use, has held up well and I use it frequently. The blade has held up well and remains sharp enough for my needs, like with cucumbers, radishes, onions. Makes FAST work out of slicing, easy to clean, small and easy to store.
