Bye bye to practically all other sauces…
I must have (had) 8 to 10 different bottles of sauces, dips and other seasonings. Not any more because I’ve finally found the one, authentic, compliment I discovered in 2006 while working in China. Don’t get me wrong, I had Asian Chili, Curry, Latin, Thai, Wasabi BBQ, Buffalo as well as local products which are all good but this product tops them all, hands down THIS STUFF ROCKS! From Ramen to Crawfish boils… unparalleled. I’m asked what the secret ingredient is and I almost tell everyone. I can’t bring myself to waste by simply discarding and, as such, transplanting them to the employ refrigerator at work 😎. Mix with Honey for a basting sauce to get “Sweet Heat”!!! Chicken, Pasta, Egg Rolls, Pork, Shrimp Cocktail… even Curries and Lamb! Awesome flavor and heat at your discretion given amount used and or mix ratio. Shelf life and lot number on every lid and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to keep a 6oz. jar for more than a month or so. Find myself reaching for it, daily!

Very tasty, not so spicy
This is very tasty. It reminds me of Bhutanese food. However, it is still only a medium level heat, definetly not EXTRA spicy. I wish they would make it hotter. But we have almost finished the whole jar in a week. It’s great.

Hot sauce w a tingly difference.
There are lots of hot sauces out there that have tons of heat, but not much else. This is different. It has lots of peppercorns from the prickly ash tree, a.k.a., chinese peppercorns, which lend a very warm heat along with a hint of lip-numbing tingle. This also has enough heat to complement the warm/numbing heat of the peppercorns, all atop midtones of black beans, garlic and chili. This is great w pot stickers dumplings, noodles, etc. For a taste of something different, I recommend this hot sauce.

I have such a love/hate for this chili crisp but mostly love
I’ve tried maybe two or three other brands of chili crisp and this by far is my favorite, as far as taste and ingredients go. I also love the back story about the product and the creator. However the amount of oil in this is such a Debbie downer especially because it’s one of the more expensive ones on the market. We have to strain the chili bits so much- if you try to just raw dog a spoonful out of the jar it will ruin most food because of the oil content. I try to find a use for the oil while cooking other things but I end up throwing so much of it out which feels incredibly wasteful. I’ve tried all three flavors- the OG is my favorite and we buy it regularly, the spicy one is good just a bit too spicy for me but my mans loves it lol. The crunchy one is alright? Just seems like it’s missing something but it’s not gross or anything? It doesn’t have tons of flavor and I feel like I can taste mostly oil but I do like the soy beans- probably just won’t buy that kind again. In conclusion I think it’s worth a try, just be prepared for a lot of oil.

Makes an excellent addition to a peanut sauce
I keep buying this! Mix this with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and peanut butter for an excellent dipping sauce for meat. It's hot on its own, but delicious mixed with the above.Really great product. Price on Amazon is good, I have price checked across a couple competitors. For leakage there is a little for some reason but it's easily solved, just keep a paper towel folded beneath it.

texture is oily, lid is slippery.
UPDATE: The seller reached out and offered a refund. I refused because I did not want to take money away from a small business owner. However they refunded me anyway. I cannot say enough good things about the owners. They are truly honest and kind people with a generous heart and it was much appreciated! A rare commodity on Amazon. I gave the 2nd jar to my sister and she actually loved it. She likes salty and spicey, so it depends upon the consumer. If you love spicey stuff with that "umami savory" taste (that certain "something" that makes a savory dish taste yummy), then I think this would be for you. We've been using it on our morning eggs and we like that the best, it's perfect with eggs. :-)I had too high hopes for this after seeing a report on a morning show about it. I had never heard of chili crisp and it sounded fantastic, and the small business that owns it seemed like good people. So I wanted to test it out. Could only find it in a local Target store, but it was very pricey. Amazon charged the same price but at least it was for 2 jars instead of one. Many reviewers said that the texture was oily and to make sure you stir it well (which I did). It was good on stir fry and also eggs, (on savory foods mostly), but we found it to be a bit too spicy for our taste and it had an oily taste (and not the pleasant kind, but more of an aged oily feel and taste). We decided to just keep and use it for eggs and stir fry which it was mostly good with. I put the opened used jar in the fridge to keep it fresher, but one day, when I reached for the jar, the lid felt a bit oily, when I tried to gently open it, it slipped and flew out of my hands and half the contents (worth about $5.50) went all on the front of my favorite shirt and on the floor and freshly painted wall! Luckily, some good stain removal soap removed it from the shirt, and I wiped it off the wall before it could stain. This all happened right before a party we were having, so I cleaned up the floor area before I could take a pic of that also. It reaked of old rancid oil for 2 days after. The biggest complaint of this product is that they did not design the lids well. They are not securely tight fitting in the first place, and if the inner part of the lid gets oily (which is pretty easy), then the lid seems to easily loosen, and could also easily slip out of your hands while opening. Just a warning to people who buy it, be very careful and hold it over your sink when opening. Also, it tasted a bit too salty to us, so a little goes a long way. I plan on giving the second jar to a relative, as we did not really care for the taste enough to keep a 2nd jar of it. If you do buy it, make sure to stir it WELL before using it, or you'll just get a mouthful of seasoned oil.
