No it doesn't. The bin liner is held firmly in place by the lid. It's a really good bin.

Q: Does this item look "plasticy"? I really wanted a metal white bin but struggling to find one this size and shape.

It does a bit simply because it is plastic. But not in a tacky way. We wanted a metal one too but couldn't find a suitable size. We have just had a new top of the range kitchen put in and are happy to have this in it. I should say it is slightly off white too, not bright white.
