This product was exactly what I needed to illuminate my music sheets. It wouldn't work for me when attached to the top edge of my plastic sheet holder because it pushed my music sheets forward. So I clamped it on to the right edge of my plastic holder, and then just bent the gooseneck of the lamp up and around. It works perfectly to illuminate the sheets. I did not take this photo with the lamp turned on because with my digital cell camera picture appears as if it was creating a spotlight, but in reality it does not. The entire music sheet area glows evenly. And you can control how bright the light comes out of this lamp with very many settings. Click on a plus sign or a minus sign to increase it or decrease the intensity. And conveniently they offer that the lamp glows in three different color tones for your preference. This lamp is amazing. The bulb area is 9 in on an 11 in wide band, and it's only three quarters inch deep. You do have to have and outlet wall adapter for the USB to plug into but those are easy and inexpensive to buy locally. I highly recommend this lamp... great quality, I couldn't ask for more. This product helped me avoid having to mount a lamp on my wall behind me for playing piano, or to place a standing floor lamp next to the piano. Again I highly recommend this product.

Got it for my art desk but otherwise I use as a dim light I shine at the wall when I'm watching TV.

I bought others like this one which included the power adapter. It would be best if this was indicated right up the top, not deep below the fold and after expanding the specs. It states “corded electric” that does not imply USB or power adaptor.It should also be USB-C Since everything is going that way.The color modes are what I needed and brightness controls are useful. It does not look that bright.

Clipped this to an angled drawing desk, had a hard time twisting the light to point at the desk surface instead of straight into space - but I think that's because it is such a sturdy, heavy-duty coil. I don't think I could even purposefully break the neck. The clip is also very heavy duty and strong - again, I think this thing could take a lot of abuse, repositioning, etc and still be fine.As for the light, I use the nighttime setting exclusively. Works like a charm, the warm light helps me go to bed on time instead of drawing all night instead... Mine stays on for 3-8 hours at a time with no flickers or issues. Doesn't get hot at all thanks to LEDs which helps prevent sweat marring my paper during the summertime. Light projects about 6 inches horizontally to either side of it on night mode so it's a lot more light than it looks like (and of course more bang for your buck since LED).Buttons could be a little more "clicky" but probably less breakable than the more "clicky" buttons. Blue light around power button helps me find it in the dark.Overall worth the money and feels like a quality product.

For being 8w it’s certainly not drawing 8w of power from my usb. 2.4a available but it only draws 0.9a at max power. Goes down to 0.04a at minimum brightness.Max power is about 5.1v at 0.9a which is just under 4w. There are about 10 brightness settings. You can see each power level in the photos. The one is out of order. Three color settings. Warm looks nice. Neutral is good white is a bit blue for my liking. Clips are good, hold tight to my table as show lamps. Gooseneck holds true doesn’t fall over. Brightness, ehhh, I mean it is running off usb. I wish it was brighter since were using them at trade shows so it’s helps but isn’t as bright as I was hoping.

I purchased this to use while studying at night. Both the neutral white and yellow options are great for reading at night and don't make my eyes fatigued. The bright, blue white light is great for daytime as well. I love that this can be dimmed as well so I can use the right level of light so I can see my text well without illuminating the entire room.The clip is strong and clips to end tables and desks nicely. The gooseneck is very flexible yet stays put and the light itself is nicely sized to illuminate both pages of an open textbook with ease. The controls are easy to use: + means increase brightness, - means decrease brightness, the illuminated button on the bottom is the power button, and the button with the chasing arrows is used to change the color of the light.I definitely highly recommend this to students or anyone else who does a lot of night reading.

The product description saids it's an 8 Watt light, which means it exceeds the current rating for USB3.0 ports. But it's probably because the light is not that bright and isn't actually 8 watts. It's only slightly brighter than a 2.5W LED light that it replaced, so buy something else if you need decent lighting.Worst, the neck does not stay in place when extended. It also doesn't twist - it wants to point down, and if you twist it slightly to keep it from shining into your eye, it'll twist right back.It does not come with a USB adapter, which isn't mentioned in the product description. Here's the product page description:"With 4.5FT long USB power cord,you don’t need extension cord if there isn’t an outlet nearby.".I find these descriptions weird. It's USB powered, you need a USB port, which shouldn't be a computer USB port if it's an 8 Watt light, which means you do need a USB adapter (your OWN), which means you need an outlet.1 star rating for both weak light, poor design, and purposely misleading description. I lol at the fake reviews.
