Spike is too long .
There is no fish on this planet who's brain is that deep , to use that spike . Three inches shorter would be perfect for tuna..

Quality product!
I just got my ikejime kit and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the components and materials. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m really looking forward to using it on my next fishing trip!

Prime sushi quality fish
Excellent and easy to use. First use was good practice on an eighty lb bluefin tuna. Always brain spiked tuna before. But first time running wire through spine.

Why it doesn't tell you no returns when purchasing ?
Instructions in Chinese, not happy with quality, wanted refund , never used it and can't return it ? Only had it a few days !

Made in China
I bought this at $60 because I don’t flinch when buying quality American or Japanese products. This product is made in China. Moreover, when gripped, the product feels about like a $5 product. Also, after examining the quality and the build, the product seems that if used out in the field (ie boat or fishing trips and not the kitchen) the metal lance will easily bend or the handle will work free from the metal lance, not inspiring after dropping $60. My tire ream (which which is a near exact copy as this product and I considered using for ikejime) feels more durable and has more heft.
