It's good, but go for the real thing if you play comp smash

I just got this today, so I may update this if something goes wrong again haha. I got this controller because my legit controller was starting to get mushy buttons from playing Ultimate for so long. I lost my tri-wing and didn't want to go through the pain of taking it apart, so I went through the pain of a third party controller instead. I played a few matches today with it, so this review is probably most helpful for people who want to play Smash.Versus the official controller:-The buttons are significantly snappier (more resistant), so short hops with the X and Y buttons are harder to do, and sliding from Y/X to A to do those short hop aerials are more uncomfortable. You can still do wavelanding and rar bairs and whatever with it. It's just uncomfortable lol. I found my official controller's mushy buttons more comfortable than this one's snappy buttons, but time will tell if I can break in this one and it'll be better.-The buttons are flat on the top, so you can feel the edge of the buttons more. I didn't even notice that the official controller's XY buttons are slightly domed until I felt this one's XY buttons.-The Z button isn't soft. In the official controller, the Z button is held up a little bit outside of the shell by a piece metal. In this one, it clicks. I also do short hops by Z, and though doable with this controller, I have to slide on less of the Z button to do them, or else I full hop.-The D-pad doesn't register as many inputs. I fear this may be the same case for all the buttons, but I was playing on wifi so I wouldn't know.-The control stick is made of a material that feels like a pencil eraser. I don't mind this, but it's not as soft. The c-stick is again flatter on the top than the original, and again not as soft. The octagonal gates are also more pronounced, which is a preferential thing. I like it.-The L/R triggers are digital so you can't short hop with them (and you can't light shield in melee, probably).-The paint on the shell isn't as smooth, but that's a very very minuscule detail. If you play Smash for fun or just want to play Gamecube games without any highly technical detail, this is a wonderful controller. It's a really cute color and it works nicely. I can see myself playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle with this. But all the small differences in the build of this controller (the snapping, the awkward flat buttons) will really add up on you if you try to do anything else with it. Also, given the amount of reviews stating that it just dies randomly, this isn't the kind of controller you'd want to bring to a tournament. I'm going to keep playing matches with this for the sake of science, and I'll update if anything turns up.

First impressions: Different but reliable

For those that care, there's a not so subtle difference between original gamecube controllers and these;• Rumble feature is more of a buzzy one with the vibration coming higher up on the controller rather than below.• More lightweight than the original but it's only by very little and you have to have both in hand to actually take a notice.• Thinner wire by about 1/2mm. The wire is also a different plastic (has a bit more cling to it if you rub a finger across it. If you compare the two side by side, you'll see original is more matte).• Buttons are clicky. A,B,Y,X,Z, and D-pad all feature a click-ish feel but L,R, and START do not (whereas the originals do). L and R have more of a scraping sound but all buttons press fine and there are no faults with inputs.• C stick and Analog stick feel exactly the same to the original so gold star for that.• Requires a phillip head screwdriver for the screws as opposed to the original's need for a Y-tip screwdriver.• Plug ends are all black compared to the originals that have the same colors as the controller body. So if you get four of these make sure you know which slot you're plugged into.In all, you get what you pay for and then some. The color in the picture is definitely not quite the same as what you get (colors are not as deeply hued but they are vivid regardless) but it really doesn't matter in the long run. It's still a fine product for the price and as long as you don't have any hangups over the afore mentioned, they'll do fine for regular gaming on an adapter or with the original GC.

You get what you pay for, it works and that's what matters! Plus its pink

Buttons are clicky, but the joysticks feel decently solid, the overall feel of the controller is pretty good too, it's lighter and is made of a cheaper plastic but it's not really too bad honestly. And it's pink. With real GameCube controllers getting harder and harder to come by, sometimes you just can't afford to let your roommate even touch your real GameCube controller, these will do just fine. Even if you're just tryna play some gamecube but when you looked up controllers on ebay you lost your soul, (I am here) it works just fine for reliving my memories playing my childhood gamecube games, but that z button click nearly knocked it down an extra star

Great for non-competitive

I am just practicing on how to play Super Smash, and I didn’t want to spend a fortune on the expensive controllers. It doesn’t have the most sensitive buttons but it definitely is great for people who don’t play Super Smash competitively (yet). The attached cable is about 1m (3ft). I love it because its pink and it is blank in the middle that allows me to customize it a lil bit.

Awesome Controller

This controller works better and smoother than the Nintendo Gamecube controller I have and still works well after having been dropped a few times, not on purpose but let's be honest sometimes Soul calibur II can get extremely irritating. Anyways, it's pretty durable and super inexpensive compared to others out there. It's definitely worth purchasing.
